Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung wenigstens eines mikrobiellen Stoffwechselprodukts mit mindestens 3 C-Atomen oder mit mindestens 2 C-Atomen und mindestens 1 N-Atom durch zuckerbasierte mikrobielle Fermentation, umfassend: a) die Herstellung eines zuckerhaltigen Flüssigmediums mit einem Monosaccharidgehalt von mehr als 20 Gew.-% aus einer Stärkequelle, wobei das zuckerhaltige Flüssigmedium auch nicht-stärkehaltige feste Bestandteile der Stärkequelle umfasst; b) die Fermentation des zuckerhaltigen Flüssigmediums zur Produktion des(der) Stoffwechselprodukte(s); und c) Abreicherung oder Isolierung wenigstens eines Stoffwechselprodukts aus der Fermentationsbrühe, wobei man einen das(die) gewünschte(n) Stoffwechselprodukt(e) produzierenden Mikroorganismenstamm mit dem zuckerhaltigen Flüssigmedium kultiviert, welches man erhält durch: a1) Vermahlen der Stärkequelle; und a2) Verflüssigen des Mahlguts in einer wässrigen Flüssigkeit in Gegenwart mindestens eines Stärke verflüssigenden Enzyms und anschließendes Verzuckern unter Verwendung mindestens eines verzuckernden Enzyms, wobei man mindestens eine Teilmenge des Mahlguts durch kontinuierliche oder diskontinuierliche Zugabe zur wässrigen Flüssigkeit verflüssigt.
