Abstract

The invention relates to calcium-enriched foods in various forms, in particular in the form of staple foods, based on cereal products. To increase the calcium content of said foods, water-soluble calcium salts of weak acids are added during the production process in a quantity that guarantees a specific minimum concentration of said mineral in the relevant food. The calcium enrichment is achieved in different ways for the different food groups. Said calcium-enriched foods enable an increased calcium intake to be achieved with the intake of food in order to combat the widespread disease osteoporosis. In addition to said food products, the invention also relates to a method for their production.
