Abstract

The present invention refers to a tie rod (1) for pull-out (C) baskets installed inside cabinets with door (A), which comprises a bar ending at one ending with a head suitable to be fitted onto the internal wall of the door, while the other end of the bar has a threaded section that is screwed onto the body of a clip designed to be fitted onto the basket.

Description

Description
Tie rod for pull-out baskets installed inside cabinets with doors
The present patent application refers to a tie rod for pull-out baskets installed inside cabinets with doors, in particular kitchen cabinets. Base units are often equipped with electro-welded wire baskets, which are often provided with specific compartments especially dedicated to contain different objects, such as bottles, pots, dishes, jars, and different food containers.
The baskets are usually mounted on a pair of parallel guides fixed on the bottom wall of the cabinet and slide on the guides in order to be pulled out to facilitate loading and unloading operations. Two square brackets are frontally applied onto the sliding rails of the guides to support the door used to close the cabinet with the basket. The basket is therefore maintained in vertical position by means of the two brackets screwed onto the internal side of the door near the lower edge. The most frequent drawback of this type of cabinets is represented by the fact that the door can easily lose its vertical position, thus impairing safe fastening to the brackets.
This is due to the fact that the door handle is usually applied near the upper edge of the door, while the door itself is fixed to the brackets on the lower edge. Because of this, every time the door is opened or closed by the user the door is subject to a bending moment equal to the force applied onto the handle multiplied by the distance between the external handle and the internal brackets.
The stress increases if the height of the door and the resistance to sliding offered by the guides increase. It must be noted that a special type of guides provided with elastic means has become quite popular recently, because the presence of the elastic means ensure perfect closing and avoids the risk of door slamming. When opening the drawer, however, the user must apply a stronger force onto the handle, in order to overcome the initial resistance made by the elastic means, which therefore contribute to worsen the causes that originate the aforementioned drawback.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a tie rod that allows to have other connection points between door and basket to obtain more stable fastening.
Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a simple and easy-to- make tie rod, characterised by high versatility of use and easy mounting and dismounting.
The aforementioned purposes have been obtained with the tie rod of the invention, which comprises three main elements: a first element shaped as a clip, which is fastened to the basket; a second element shaped as a grooved sleeve, which is screwed onto the door; and a third intermediate element, which consists in a threaded bar that connects the first two elements.
The bar ends with a mushroom-shaped head that is fitted into the notch of the second sleeve-shaped element, while the first element has a threaded hole used to screw the bar.
For major clarity, the description of the tie rod of the invention continues with reference to the enclosed drawings, which are intended for purposes of illustration only and not in a limiting sense, whereby: - Fig. 1 shows the tie rod of the invention mounted onto an electro-welded wire pull-out basket.
- Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of a detail of Fig. 1.
- Fig. 3 is an exploded axonometric drawing of all components of the tie rod of the invention. With reference to the aforementioned figures, it must be noted that the tie rod (1) of the invention is designed to be used in cabinets equipped with electro- welded wire pull-out baskets (C) mounted onto sliding guides (G), on which brackets (S) are frontally applied to support the door (A), so that by pulling or pushing the door (A) the pull-out basket can be extracted from the cabinet or pulled back inside it.
The tie rod (1) comprises a first element (2), which consists in an internally threaded short pipe with an external appendix (2b) shaped as a forked elastic clip with grip perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the short pipe (2a).
The tie rod (1) comprises a second element (3), which consists in a sleeve
(3a) closed at one end by a bottom wall (3b) with a central hole (3c) used to insert the screw (4) to fix the sleeve (3a) to the internal side of the door (A). The lateral surface of the sleeve (3a) has a deep transversal notch (3d) for about a half-circumference arch, which extends into an annular groove (3e) located on the internal wall of the sleeve (3a).
The tie rod (1) comprises a third element (5), which consists in a bar (5a) with hexagonal cross-section, ending with a threaded section (5d) on one side and a mushroom-shaped head (5c) on the other side, which can be fitted into the notch (3d) of the sleeve (3a) and engaged into the groove (3e), while the threading section of the head (5c) is coupled with the threaded hole (2c) of the short pipe (2a).
Finally, the tie rod (1) comprises a fourth element, with merely aesthetic function, it being designed to hide the coupling between the head (5c) and sleeve (3a). This element consists in a perforated boss (6) shaped as a thimble, inserted onto the bar (5a) and with dimensions suitable to house the sleeve (3a) by exercising a slight pressure.
It must be noted that the dimensions of the external appendix (2b) shaped as a forked elastic clip allow to engage the wire (F) of the basket (C) by exercising a slight pressure capable of elastically diverging the two jaws of the clip.
