Description

DEVICE FOR CLEANING OF OPTICAL CD PICK-UP HEADS
Technical field
The utility model relates to data storage and can be applied for cleaning of optical CD pick-up heads, intended for reading information from different types of CDs, including computer and video CDs. Background of the Invention
There is known a device for cleaning of optical CD pick-up heads, comprising a CD with a dot cleaning element; the CD comprises two control tracks, containing the data providing for spinning and stopping the disk; the tracks are located in the center of the disk, US, C, 5088083. The disadvantage of this device is low effectiveness of cleaning of optical CD pick-up heads and deficient functionality. There is known a device for cleaning of optical CD pick-up heads, comprising a CD with a cleaning organ performed in the form of a set of five dot elements, each representing a brush in the form of a bun; these elements are located in a spiral. The CD contains a track with lead-in information and an area with instructive information and soft music, US, C, 5499228. The said engineering solution is taken as prototype of the present utility model. A disk is inserted into computer CD-ROM or CD player and the data from lead-in area (disk name, overhead information) are read. Then a spinning device turns on and data to explain the use of the lens cleaner with voice are reproduced. Then the disk brushes dust off the lens with the help of brushing elements, after which it stops within a given time. The disadvantages of this engineering solution consist in the fact that there is no function of control of the process of cleaning of optical CD pick-up head, no function of testing of sound systems and checking of accuracy of connection of column loudspeakers; in case of cleaning optical CD-ROM heads, there is no function of control of the cleaning process by mouse or from the keyboard.
Summary of the utility model
An object of the present utility model is to expand the functionality of the device for the cleaning of optical CD pick-up heads. According to the utility model, the device for cleaning of optical
CD pick-up heads comprising a CD with a cleaning organ, the said CD containing inner zero track with lead-in information about the CD, the latter contains an additional track with the record of program controlling the movement of the optical CD heads in the process of cleaning. The applicant has not found any engineering solutions identical to the claimed one. That allows to conclude that the utility model conforms to the criterion "novelty" (N). Brief description of the drawings
The drawing (Fig.l) represents general view of the claimed device. Description of the preferred embodiments
In the particular embodiment the device comprises a 5 -inch CD 1. The CD contains information providing for its loading, spinning and a number of extra functions when it is placed into a CD-player or a CD- ROM drive. The so-called zero track 2 (standard "Red book") contains information about the disk name ("cleaning disk") and the coded housekeeping instructions for the reproducing device. Track 3 follows track 2 and contains visual and/or voice directions for the use of the disk (record format - CD-DA, digital audio CD), on the surface of which the cleaning organ is fixed in the form of a linear element 4, representing an oblong brush from soft synthetic fibers. In the particular embodiment track 5 "audio" is located right under the element 4. Track 5 might represent either a record of audio-test or the so-called "record of silence". The program allowing controlling the movement of the device optical head (for example, by way of computer mouse), as well as controlling the process of cleaning and its quality, is recorded in the additional track 6 in CD-ROM format (standard "Yellow book"). The presence of tracks of two different standards on one disk makes it compatible and maximally effective for the cleaning of optical heads of both CD-players and CD-ROM drives. The device functions as follows: If the disk 1 is inserted into a CD-player, the information is automatically read from track 2 and the disk is recognized as a common music CD. Then the information and directions are automatically reproduced from track 3. Particularly, the directions inform of the fact that in order to perform cleaning it is necessary to reproduce track 5, located above the element 4. When this track is called, the optical head is cleaned from impurities and simultaneously either stereo-audio test or silence is heard. A user can remove CD from the device ahead of time. If the disk 1 is inserted into the CD-ROM drive, it is recognized as a computer CD-ROM, intended for all versions of Windows operational systems. After loading the CD, the main menu of the cleaning disk is displayed. Activating corresponding display zones with the help of a mouse, not only the CD-ROM drive optical system can be cleaned and audio test, if present, can be heard through the computer loudspeaker system, but also the speed of data transfer from the disk into computer can be checked (it depends on the fouling factor of optical system), as well as detailed recommendations on the maintenance of the CD-ROM drive can be displayed or printed. Industrial applicability
The device for cleaning of optical CD pick-up heads is factory- manufactured, known materials and equipment are applied, which I ι stipulates that the utility model corresponds to the criterion "industrial applicability" (IA).
