Description
A FRAGRANT MASK
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a mask worn over the nose and mouth, and more particularly to a fragrant mask having an aromatic pack inserted therein to activate a wearer's biorhythm and make the wearer refreshed, and including prominences and depressions all over the mask to distribute evenly the inhaled air and improve air permeability and ventilation. Background Art
[2] In general, masks are worn by patients having infectious diseases or susceptible to contagious diseases due to the weak function of their respiratory organs, in order to prevent exhalation of viruses or germs and inhalation of viruses, dust, etc.
[3] Masks are also worn by doctors and nurses for the prevention of a secondary infection from the patients, and by workers in the areas having high pollution density. During a change of seasons when contagious viruses or germs prevail, the general public wears masks to prevent infection and infiltration of germs, dust, etc.
[4] These conventional masks are of a size to cover respiratory organs including the nose and mouth, and each of the masks includes a pair of loops provided at both ends thereof to be hung on the ears or strings to be hung around the head.
[5] It is preferable that the mask is made of textile material, which is advantageous for ventilation, having no influence on the wearer's breathing and skin. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[6] However, since the conventional masks are worn over the nose and mouth, breathing can be concentrated around the nose and mouth, which results in the discomfort of wearers, and at the worst it may cause stifling situation or breathing disorder.
[7] Further, if the mask is worn for a long time, less and less amount of the fresh air is inhaled and the biorhythm of the wearer becomes unbalanced, which may cause a headache. Technical Solution
[8] Accordingly, the object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional masks, by providing a fragrant mask which can activate the wearer's biorhythm and make the wearer feel refreshed by the inhalation of fragrance which is
good to the human body.
[9] Another object of the present invention is to provide a fragrant mask having improved air permeability and ventilation to make the wearer breathe in more comfort.
[10] In order to achieve the above objects, the fragrant mask according to the present invention comprises a pad covering the nose and mouth; strings extended from both side ends of the pad to hang the mask on a wearer's face or head; a pocket having its one end opened and provided on either surface of the pad; and an aromatic pack containing fragrant powders therein and received in the pocket.
[11] The aroma contained in the pocket may be merely herbal fragrance and also be a fragrance having medicinal effect on the human body.
[12] In addition, the pad and/or the pocket of the fragrant mask may include prominences and depressions formed at regular intervals over the surface thereof.
Advantageous Effects
[13] Accordingly, if the aroma is inhaled into the nose and mouth through the mask of the present invention, it can activate the wearer's biorhythm and improve the wearer's feeling and health. [14] In addition, due to the prominences and depressions formed on the surface of the pad and/or the pocket of the mask, the air can distribute evenly and permeate into the nose and mouth, so that stifling situation or breathing disorder can be prevented and the air permeability and ventilation can be improved.
Brief Description of the Drawings [15] The accompanying drawings, which are included to provide a further understanding of the invention and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification, illustrate embodiments of the invention and together with the description serve to explain the principles of the invention, wherein: [16] Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a mask according to an embodiment of the present invention; [17] Fig. 2 is a perspective view of an aromatic pack received in the mask according to the present invention; [18] Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a mask according to another embodiment of the present invention; and [19] Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a mask according to a further embodiment of the present invention.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[20] Reference will now be made in detail to preferred embodiments of the present invention in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
[21] Fig. 1 shows the construction of a mask according to the present invention, wherein strings (11) are extended from each side end of a pad (10) to hang the mask (1) on a wearer's face or head, and a pocket (15) with a space (14) is formed on the inner side of the pad (10).
[22] Fig. 2 shows an aromatic pack (20) which is to be inserted into the pocket (15) of the mask (1) to activate the wearer's biorhythm and improve the wearer's health, and also shows herb powders (22) contained in the aromatic pack (20).
[23] Fig. 3 shows the mask (1) according to another embodiment of the present invention, wherein prominences and depressions (16) are repeatedly formed on the pad (10) at regular intervals to distribute the air inhaled through the mask (1) evenly, thus improving the air permeability and ventilation.
[24] Fig. 4 shows the mask (1) in a cross-sectional view, wherein not only the pad (10) but also the pocket (15) have the prominences and depressions (16), and the aromatic pack (20) is provided in the space (14) between the pad (10) and the pocket (15).
[25] Referring to Fig. 1, the mask (1) according to the present invention comprises a pad
(10) to cover the nose and mouth; strings (11) extended from both side ends of the pad (10) to hang the mask (1) on a wearer's face or head; and a pocket (15) having its one end opened to form a space (14) and provided on the inner side of the pad (10).
[26] The mask (1) prevents patients who have been suffering from infectious diseases from exhaling viruses or germs to the outside, thus preventing a secondary infection and also prevents patients susceptible to contagious diseases from inhaling viruses or germs, dust, etc. from the outside.
[27] The mask (1) is of a size to cover respiratory organs including the nose and mouth, and preferably made of smooth textile material to provide a light and satisfactory feeling of wearing.
[28] Strings (11) may be integrally formed at both side ends of the pad (10) to hang the mask (1) on the wearer's face or head.
[29] The strings (11) are shown to integrally extend from both side ends of the pad (10) in Fig. 1, but according to circumstances they can be integrally connected together to form a band, so that they can be fixed on the back of the wearer's head.
[30] Further, the strings (11) provided at both side ends of the mask (1) may respectively be provided with a length adjustment element (12), so that the wearer can adjust the length of the strings (11) to the wearer's face. The length adjustment element (12)
includes two apertures, through which the strings (11) pass.
[31] Furthermore, at each of joint portions where the strings (11) and the pad (10) meet, a tensioning part (13) which can freely expand and shrink may be provided to form a tight sealing and improve feeling of wearing of the mask (1).
[32] In wearing the mask (1), the strings (11) are first adjusted by means of the length adjustment elements (12) to fit to the wearer's face or head, and then with gripping the strings (11), the wearer hangs the strings (11) on the ears or behind the head. Then, the tensioning parts (13) on both side ends of the pad (10) suitably expand or shrink so that the pad (10) can cover the nose and mouth softly and germs or dust can be kept from infiltrating to the wearer's respiratory organs.
[33] On either surface of the pad (10), the pocket (15) having its one end opened to form a space (14) is provided.
[34] Fig. 1 illustrates that the pocket (15) is provided on the inner surface of the pad
(10). The aromatic pack (20) is provided into the space (14) formed between the pocket (15) and the pad (10). Since the pocket (15) is formed by sewing on the inner surface of the pad (10), with which the wearer's nose and mouth are in contact, the aromatic pack (20) cannot be seen from the outside.
[35] However, the pocket (15) may be provided on the outer surface of the pad (10) if the wearer does not like to inhale the aroma directly from the pocket (15). In this case, the aromatic pack (20) is received into the pocket (15) formed on the external surface of the pad (10), and the wearer can breathe in the aroma indirectly, while the effect of the aroma to activate the wearer's biorhythm and improve the health is the same as in the case where the pocket (15) is provided on the inner surface of the pad (10).
[36] The aromatic pack (20) contains aromatic powders (22) therein, which mainly consist of herbs.
[37] As shown in Fig. 2, the aromatic pack (20) comprises a body (21) and the herb powders (22) contained in the body (21).
[38] The body (21) is made of paper such as Korean traditional paper or textile material such as non-woven fabric, which is not harmful to the human body but includes a number of micro pores. The body (21) is semi-permeable which allows passage of the air but acts as a barrier to the herb powders (22).
[39] The herbs in the aromatic pack (20) can be any plants, which emit beneficial fragrance and are beneficial to the himan body. For example, dried powders of lavender, rosemary, mint, jasmine, dills, bergamots, etc. can be used.
[40] Specifically, lavender is known to have excellent effect on stimulation of hair
restoration, mothproofing, sterilization, deep sleeping, tranquility, sedation and fatigue restoration. Also, mint, e.g., peppermint or spearmint is helpful to prevention of cold and halitosis, stomach strengthening, sterilization and digestion.
[41] Further, dills are known to have excellent effect on stomach strengthening, elimination of halitosis and headache, prevention of sclerosis of the arteries, and deep sleeping.
[42] Bergamots are effective in treating fatigue and rough skin.
[43] Therefore, if the aroma of the herb powders (22) is breathed in with the air by the wearer of the mask (1), it can perform a medical action and activate the biorhythm of the wearer.
[44] Further, if the mask (1) has been worn for a long time, the mask (1) may smell bad or may be stained with foreign substances. However, in such cases, the aroma emitted from the aromatic pack (20) can please or refresh the wearer.
[45] If the aromatic pack (20) does not emit fragrance any longer as a result of use for a long time, and if the wearer's taste has been changed, the aromatic pack (20) can simply be taken out from the pocket (15) and replaced with a new aromatic pack (20) containing new aromatic powders (22) therein.
[46] In the meantime, as shown in Fig. 3, the pad (10) of the mask (1) includes the prominences and depressions (16) repeatedly formed at regular intervals over the surface of the pad (10) by an embossing process using heat and pressure.
[47] The prominences and depressions (16) function to evenly distribute the air which has been inhaled through the mask (1). The air is refracted by the prominences and depressions (16) before passing through the pad (10), so that the air permeability and ventilation can be improved.
[48] Therefore, the prominences and depressions (16) can prevent the stifling situation or breathing disorder which may be caused by a long time use of the mask (1).
[49] Further, the prominences and depressions (16) also serve to prevent the transformation or deformation of the entire shape of the pad (10) after washing, thus lengthening the life of the mask (1) and increasing the comfort of wearing the mask
(1).
[50] Referring to Fig. 4, in the mask (1) according to the present invention shown in a cross-sectional view, the pocket (15) as well as the pad (10) includes the prominences and depressions (16) repeatedly formed at regular intervals, and the aromatic pack (20) is provided in the space (14) between the pad (10) and the pocket (15).
[51] In this case, the air which has passed through the pad (10) is further refracted by the
prominences and depressions (16) of the pocket (15), so that the air can be much more evenly distributed over the whole mask (1). [52]
Industrial Applicability
[53] As described above, according to the present invention, a fragrant mask is provided, which can activate the wearer's biorhythm due to the medicinal action of the aroma contained therein. The mask can make the wearer feel refreshed by the inhalation of the aroma which is good to the human body.
[54] Also, according to the present invention, a fragrant mask is provided, which can improve air permeability and ventilation and make the wearer breathe in more comfort, by providing the prominences and depressions (16) repeatedly formed at regular intervals on the pad (10) and/or the pocket (15).
[55] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. The present invention covers the modifications and variations thereof provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
