Abstract

Apparatus and method for analyzing different components in a system having at least two different refractive indices such as oil and water fractions in a multi-phase flow stream, as well as the components respective flow rates. The apparatus and method can be used to determine various fractions of organics in other organic systems such as the components of a biological system. The fractions are determined based on information gathered on their respective refractive indices when exposed to particular wavelengths of light.
