Abstract

L'invention concerne un support de bras et un procédé pour des tomodensitogrammes (CT scanner) de patients couchés. Cette méthode est caractérisée en ce que les bras du patient sont placés le long de son corps, avec les coudes relevés au-dessus de son thorax. L'invention est destinée à réduire l'inconfort des patients lors d'un tomodensitrogramme : il n'est ainsi plus nécessaire que les patients lèvent leur bras au-dessus de leur tête, leurs bras peuvent être positionnés de manière plus naturelle, le long du corps, et sont confortablement soutenus par un support de bras, et ce, tout en gardant une qualité d'image élevée pour le tomodensitogramme. En outre, le support de bras permet de faciliter la totalité du procédé de manipulation du patient, en particulier pour des patients souffrant de traumatismes, ce qui permet de réduire considérablement la durée totale du tomodensitrogramme. Fréquemment, le facteur temps est extrêmement important, précisément pour des patients souffrant de traumatismes, de sorte qu'une réduction de cette durée de scanner est un élément vital dans des situations critiques. L'expérience indique que l'utilisation du support de bras de l'invention permet de réduire la durée du scanner pour des patients souffrant de traumatismes, typiquement à moins de 10 minutes, par rapport à des durées classiques de 20 à 25 minutes.
