Abstract

La présente invention concerne une isolation ininflammable pouvant être produite selon un procédé consistant à appliquer sur un substrat de fibre de verre, tel qu'un panneau en fibre de verre, une dispersion aqueuse de vermiculite et de graphite expansible. On peut également appliquer sur cette isolation un pré-revêtement d'une dispersion de vermiculite avant l'application du revêtement de vermiculite/graphite expansible, lequel revêtement de vermiculite/graphite expansible peut en outre être recouvert d'une garniture de FSK ou d'une couche de plâtre dur ou de ciment Portland. Le panneau d'isolation revêtu ainsi produit présente une plus grande résistance aux flammes et peut être utilisé comme composant d'un bâtiment ou dans des véhicules.
