Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a separator having a low water content for an electrochemical cell, comprising the following steps: (a) preparing a mixture consisting of (a-1) a lithium compound having a radical that volatizes easily when heated, of (a-2) a solvent and/or dispersant, and of (a-3) optional additional mixture constituents; (b) producing a separator intermediate product with the mixture during which the lithium compound is, at least in part, exposed on the surface of the separator intermediate product; (c) heating the separator intermediate product to a temperature ranging from 50 to 350 °C for a predetermined time in order to remove the radical of the lithium compound, optionally pyrolytically, at least partially from the surface of the separator intermediate product and to create a separator having a low water content.
