  • Each chamber 10 is preferably formed in a manner such that its first end 10a of larger cross-section is positioned in the region of the base of a respective paddle 9 and is separated therefrom.
  • Each chamber 10 is also separated from the loading compartment 5 by means of a perforated plate 12 and is closed on the opposite side by the outer wall 4 of the drum 2.
  • the perforated plate 12 advantageously permits flow communication between the compartment 5 and the chamber 10.

  • This arrangement advantageously prevents any problems with the bath-discharge system due to cavitation phenomena which are not unlikely when it is necessary to work at temperatures close to the boiling point of the bath.

  • the use of the machine according to the present invention advantageously permits operation with particularly high garment : bath load ratios, by way of indication, of about 1 : 5.
  • a smaller quantity of water and of auxiliary substances such as equalizers, absorbents, sequestrators, deaerators, acids, bases and dyes are consequently used for a given quantity of garments treated and a considerable saving in energy for the heating and movement of the bath is achieved.
  • the present invention thus solves the problem discussed above with reference to the prior art mentioned, at the same time affording many other advantages, amongst which is a treatment which, on the one hand, is more uniform and gentle and, on the other hand, enables a deeper penetration of the bath into the fabrics to be achieved.
  • a further advantage is that it is also possible to operate with baths at temperatures higher than those normally used in conventional machines of the type indicated, thus increasing the versatility of the machine.

L'invention concerne une machine (1) destinée à traiter des tissus dans un bain, en particulier pour teindre des vêtements, qui comprend un tambour rotatif (2) définissant un compartiment de chargement (5) dans lequel on dépose les tissus à traiter, ainsi qu'une paroi externe (4) fermée hermétiquement qui empêche le bain de s'écouler vers le compartiment de chargement en traversant la paroi.
