Abstract

According to at least one of the disclosed embodiments of the present invention, there is provided a rack mounted system (10) employing vertically mounted electronic components (32) in the form of blades for supporting circuit devices such as computer components. The blades (32) are mounted in a series of vertically spaced apart bays (14). In one example of the invention, in each bay (14), the vertically mounted blades (32) are interconnected to a power distribution unit strip to (71) cause the blades (32) to be mounted compactly. In one example, a pair of sets of vertically mounted blades (32) are attached to opposite sides of the power distribution unit (29) in a back-to-back configuration within the same bay (14).
