Abstract

A personal warming system for hospital use comprises a heating mattress or pad (110) including a heating element (150) positioned between two foam portions for warming a patient during a medical procedure. The heating element (150) can be at least partially enclosed in a fluid-resistant cover. The heating element (150) can be connected to a control unit (120) to select between multiple temperature options for the pad (110). In another embodiment, the heating pad (110) can include radiolucent features that will not appreciably obscure x-ray images.
