Abstract

The invention concerns a bypass valve (9) comprising a body (10) defining a chamber (11) provided with an inlet (12) and two mutually adjacent outlets (13, 14), a sealing member (15) mounted on a pivot pin (16) extending between the two adjacent outlets to pivot between two extreme positions under the action of control means, means for positioning (26) the bypass valve of an internal combustion engine exhaust gas cooling device (1) such that the bypass valve outlets are connected, one to a cooled gas flow channel (2) and the other to a non-cooled gas flow channel (6). The invention is characterized in that the sealing member has at least one blade (15a, 15b) extending from the pivot pin and the positioning means are arranged such that, in at least one of the extreme positions of the sealing member, the blade is pressed against part of the cooling device to block the corresponding flow channel of the cooling device.
