Abstract

A power supply circuit (300) comprises a current limiter (310) configured to limit a current drawn from a host power supply (314) to a maximum current that is less than a maximum current for the host power supply (314). The power supply circuit (300) also comprises a storage device (312) coupled to the current limiter (310). The storage device (312) is configured to store energy for supplementing the current drawn from the host power supply (314) in order to generate a load current that is higher than the maximum current that can be supplied by the host power supply (310). The power supply circuit (300) also comprises a voltage regulator (302) coupled to the current limiter (310) and the storage device (312). The voltage regulator (302) is configured to provide the load current and an output voltage to a load device (306/308).
