Abstract

A composting aid comprising a biodegradable crosslinked polymer, especially a crosslinked unsaturated-carboxylic-acid polymer derived from a polymer comprising repeating units having a specific structure. It has biodegradability and high water absorption. When applied to a raw compost material, the composting aid causes the raw compost material to gel or solidify and accelerates composting.
