Abstract

The invention concerns a chimney security system, in particular a device for avoiding fire propagation in case of smoke explosion of a chimney pipe. The device is connected to a building water distribution network. When the internal tap (1) or the external tap (2) is opened, water is supplied to tubular rings (4) and (5) by a piping system (3). The tubular rings are provided with holes on their periphery so as to generate oblique water jets oriented towards the walls of the chimney pipe. The upper tubular ring (4) floods and cools the pipe internally. The tubular ring (5) cools the pipe externally at the building roof level. A tank (6) equipped with a discharge conduit recuperates the water to avoid flooding of the roof space. A system bleeding is provided to avoid freezing of the pipe system on parts of the network possibly external to the building.
