Abstract
The apparatus for the ventilation of sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and a ventilation duct has the task to remove bad odors from the place of their generation before their spreading, and to remove the air from sanitary appliance and/or its air-connected areas, using the method which unites three different tubular systems, i.e. the sanitary appliance flushing pipeline, the ventilation pipeline and the sewage pipeline, consisting of a partitioner (1), a ventilator (2) and a ventilation valve (3), provided that it may, in other variants, have a partition valve (5) and the pertaining equipment for programmed control and supervision, i.e. a switch, a sensor and a programming device. According to variant B the air flows through partitioner (1), and through the partitioner valve (5) towards the ventilator (2) which generates forced airflow, towards sewage system (4) through which the air is discharged to the environment of the facility by means of the sewage vent (9).
Description
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HE VENTILATION OF SANITARY EQUIPMENT
1. TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to a method and apparatus for the ventilation of sanitary equipment having bad odor, and of areas without ventilation openings and/or ventilation ducts in which it is not possible or it is too expensive to build a ventilation system using usual methods.
2. TECHNICAL PROBLEM
It is generally known that after using the sanitary appliances they have bad odor, and a negative effect on the quality of air in such areas, in terms of hygiene and health, and with regard to the fact that it is the constituent part of the air mass, this odor can not be restricted only to the sanitary area, where it is produced.
There is also a problem of the ventilation of closed areas, irrespective of whether it is a room or any closed technological area, where the use of the system of ventilation including ventilation openings and/or ventilation ducts is not possible due to the design of a building and/or the design of closed area included in a technological process, or where the installation itself of such a ventilation would be too expensive to justify the target to be achieved by it.
3. STATE OF THE ART
To my knowledge the problem of the ventilation and the removal of bad odor has been solved by: a) natural and/or forced ventilation through a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct, requiring, as to achieve a satisfactory effect, the exchange of high quantity of air to be carried out in the ventilated area, causing both the higher expenses related to
heating/cooling, and the spreading of bad odor during the ventilation through the whole air-connected area. b) In sanitary or/and other areas having bad odor, the air fresheners and deodorants are dispersed, that only cover up bad odors without separating them from the air, but additionally saturate it with chemical compounds, which are not beneficial to one's health or to the stability of ozone shield. c) The method and apparatus for the ventilation of sanitary equipment according to patent application WO 01/07723 Al prevents the spreading of bad odors from the sanitary equipment to the air-connected area. That method requires the installation of the sanitary equipment adjusted to that method, as well as the construction of a ventilation duct specially intended for that purpose. Such a method significantly raises the cost of the ventilation and requires intervention in the design solutions of the object, which is not always possible.
4. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The first target of the invention is to eliminate bad odors from the sanitary equipment and places where they are produced, before they extend to air-connected areas.
The second target of the invention is to give a good solution of the ventilation of enclosed areas without ventilation opening and/or ventilation duct.
The third target of the invention is to solve the ventilation of the sanitary equipment without changing already installed equipment, or without using special sanitary equipment.
The fourth target of the invention is to use the sewage system of the object for the ventilation of sanitary equipment and/or enclosed areas.
The method and apparatus for the ventilation of the sanitary appliances and/or enclosed areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct, includes a connecting element between the ventilation system and the sanitary appliance flushing system, creating a tubular connection leading from the interior of the sanitary appliance, the place of the generation of bad odors, partly through the flushing installation, towards the ventilator. While in operation, the ventilator induces forced flow of the air from the sanitary appliance towards the sewage system, through
which the air is discharged, through a discharge valve, to the environment. Thus, the tubular system for flushing media, the media for flushing sanitary appliances, together with the tubular system according to the invention and the tubular sewage system of the facility, constitute a single system of the ventilation of sanitary equipment and/or enclosed areas.

6. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AT LEAST ONE OF THE WAYS OF CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Figure 1 shows the invention according to variant A, consisting of: - a partitioner (1) which unites two different purpose tubular systems in a single one, so as to enable the use of the sanitary appliances flushing system simultaneously with the ventilation pipeline for the circulation of the air containing bad odors produced in the sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct,
- a ventilator (2) having the task of generating forced circulation of the air containing bad odors from the sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct, - a ventilation valve (3) preventing the entry of the air containing bad odors from the sewage system into the sanitary appliance and/or its air-connected environment while the method and the apparatus for the ventilation of sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct are at rest,
- a sewage system (4) which, in addition to its basic function also performs the function of the ventilation system owing to its vent on the top of the building, being required by the law.
The purpose of this requirement is to prevent the generation of underpressure in the sewage system, which could empty the trap element of the sewage system providing therewith, free entrance of the air from the sewage system into the air-connected area of the sanitary appliance and facilities. In order to provide an uninterrupted functioning of the invention, it has to be mounted above the sanitary appliance flushing valve and/or above the level of the flushing fluid in the container designed for the sanitary appliance flushing purpose, i. e. toilet cistern.
Figure 3 shows the invention according to variant C, which includes the partitioner carried out in a way that it physically separates, by one of its parts, or by its full length the ventilation duct from the sanitary appliance flushing duct.
Figure 2 shows the variant "B" of the method and apparatus for the ventilation of the sanitary equipment and/or area without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct, including the same characteristics as are included in variant "A", except for the fact that in variant "B" the ventilation valve (3) is replaced by a partitioner valve (5) which prevents the entrance of the sanitary appliance flushing media into the ventilation system and the entrance of the air from the sewage system into the ventilated area when the apparatus is at rest, whereby its functioning may be regulated by the pressure force of the flushing media, by means of the pressure switch, which puts into operation the partitioner valve (5) and stops the operation of the ventilator (2) and/or electronically, by means of a sensor control, which works on the same principle as the pressure switch, enabling the installation of this method and apparatus for the ventilation of the sanitary equipment and/or areas without ventilation opening and/or ventilation duct also below the level of the flushing system, without fearing that the flushing media would enter the
ventilation system according to this method and apparatus for the ventilation of the sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct. The installation level referred to in variant "A" need not be observed.
7. APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION
The disclosed invention enables efficient ventilation of the sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct using the state of the art which includes a ventilator connected to a source of power energy, a ventilation valve, and electric and/or mechanical, and/or electronic and/or combined elements for programmed supervision and control, such as a switch, a sensor, a programming device, by the system and apparatus for the ventilation of the sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct, including the electric energy source or any other source of power necessary for the operation of the mentioned elements, in the manner that the system for the ventilation of the sanitary equipment and/or areas without a ventilation opening and/or a ventilation duct is installed on the existing sanitary equipment flushing tubular system, by the use of a joint specially adapted to this purpose, or by replacing a segment of the tubular flushing system with a partitioner (1) specially designed for that purpose, which leads from the ventilator causing forced air circulation, through a ventilation valve (3), installed where necessary, and/or through a partitioner valve (5), to the sewage system line, which serves in this system as a ventilation line, or directly to the environment of the facility. The elements to be used in this method and apparatus may be the standardized ready-made market products complying with the technical requirements of the method and apparatus for the ventilation of sanitary appliances and/or areas without ventilation openings and/or ventilation ducts, depending on the air flow rate, air-flow volume in the unit of time, electric current voltage, and the prescribed safety degree of the installed equipment. This system may be installed, as desired, inside or on the wall, irrespective of the installation, i.e. sanitary appliance flushing system and sewage system, distance and arrangement in the facility.
