Description

MICROPHONE
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a microphone, and more particularly, to a microphone capable of reducing an error rate of components and lengthening its lifetime by firmly fixing a cable, a jack holder and a phone unit onto a microphone body.
Background Art
In general, a microphone is abbreviated to a mike, and in a broad sense, also a transmitter of a telephone set belongs to the microphone. Recently, various methods for improving quality of sound in broadcasting and recording have been developed, and compact microphones of high performance using a semiconductor have been practically used. One of the microphones includes a container, which is formed to easily receive sound waves and contains a circuit vibrating by the sound waves and converting the mechanical vibration into electrical signal, a compact and solidified (or IC) amplifier and an electric battery therein. There is also a wireless microphone, and generally, a circuit of the wireless microphone in itself forms a part of a compact frequency-modulated(FM) transmission circuit. For an example, a conventional mike will be described as follows. As shown in FIGS. 1 through 3, the conventional mike includes a tubular body 10, a phone unit 12 connected to an end of the body 10, a mike cover 14 covering the phone unit 12, a connection adapter 16, a jack adapter 18 and a jack holder 20 connected to the other end of the body 10, and a cable 22 inserted into the body 10 through a hollow part 20a of the jack holder 20 and connected to the jack adapter 18. Here, the body 10 and the phone unit 12 are connected to each other with an adhesive, and the connection adapter 16 and the body 10 are connected with each other by fastening a connection hole 16a of the connection adapter 16 and a through hole 10a of the body 10 corresponding to the connection hole 16a with fastening means 24.
I
A hook 18a of the jack adapter 18, which is terminal-connected with the connection adapter 16, is inserted and fit into a hole 10b of the body 10, and the jack adapter 18 and the jack holder 20 are connected to each other by fastening a connection hole 18b of the jack adapter 18 and a through hole 20b of the jack holder 20 corresponding to the coupling hole 18b with fastening means 26. The cable 22 is fixed to a clip 18c of the jack adapter 18 through the hollow part 20a of the jack holder 20 and electrically connected with the jack adapter 18. Here, the clip 18c is fixed by the fastening means 26 when the jack adapter 18 and the jack holder 20 are connected to each other by fastening the connection hole 18b of the jack adapter 18 and the through hole 20b of the jack holder 20 corresponding to the coupling hole 18b with fastening means 26. The reference numerals 16b and 18d designate terminals, 18e designates a press button for pressing the hook 18a, and 19 designates a spring elastically operating the press button.
However, because the phone unit 12 is connected to the body 10 with the adhesive, the conventional mike has a problem that the adhered portion may be detached from the body 10 due to a long-term use or external shock. Furthermore, because the cable 22 is caught to the clip 18c of the jack adapter 18 without any fastening means, the cable 22 may be easily separated from the clip 18c when the cable is pulled from the body 10 due to direct and indirect factors during the use of the mike. Moreover, because the clip 18c is connected to the jack adapter 18 with the fastening means 26, the connected portion may be damaged when the external force is applied. Additionally, because the body 10 and the jack holder 20 are indirectly connected by the hook 18a of the jack adapter 18, the connected state is unstable, and so, the jack holder 20 may be separated from the body 10 due to the external shock.

FIGS. 27 and 28 illustrate a state that a jack adapter and a connection adapter of the mike according to the present invention are connected with each other. The mike includes a tubular body 170, a phone unit (not shown) inserted and comiected into an end of the body 170, a jack adapter 174 connected with an external cable 172 at the other end of the body 170, and a connection adapter 176 connected with terminals 174a of the jack adapter 174. The connection adapter 176 has a hole 176b formed in an outer circumference of terminals 176a thereof and the jack adapter 174 has a projection 174b formed on an inner circumference of the terminals 174a thereof and resiliently taken into the hole 176b of the connection adapter 176. Here, it is preferable that the hole 176b of the terminals 176a of the connection adapter 176 is concavely formed in the whole outer circumference of the terminals 176a. Furthermore, it is preferable that the projections 174b are formed in large numbers on the inner circumference of the terminals 174a of the jack adapter 174 so that the projections 174b are resiliently extended to expand an inner diameter of the terminals 174a of the jack adapter 174 while the terminals 176a of the connection adapter 176 are inserted, and returned into an original condition to be took and fit into the hole 176b when reaching the hole 176b of the terminals 176a. The reference numeral 178 designates a jack holder.
Meanwhile, it will be appreciated that the coupling structure using the projection and the ring, the structure that the stopper and the tightening nut are contained within the jack holder using the auxiliary holder to the jack holder, and the structure the stopper and the tightening nut arranged within the jack holder are exposed to the outside are not restricted to the coupling of the mike, and may be applied to a power supply plug used in a computer or other plugs of general electric appliances to prevent the plug from be easily separated from a body.
Industrial Applicability
As described above, the mike according to the present invention can improve the coupling structure between the body and the phone unit and firmly fix the cable by having the stopper and the tightening nut, thereby not only preventing damage or separation of the coupled condition due to the external shock or a users error but also preventing the user from receiving an electric shock. While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiments but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
