Abstract

Method and system for generating automatic/semiautomatic layout in a given area, based on given objects, wherein said objects are grouped and arranged, in relation to their content, according to hierarchical tree structure (12), wherein each object or group of objects is represented by a node of said hierarchical tree structure (12), and have pre-defined arrangement rules and properties. The preferred embodiment of the invention employs a recursive algorithm in order to generate said layout, by assigning (18) an area for each offspring node in the tree wherein said area is sub area of the node's ancestor and said area location is determined according to ancestor node arrangement rules (14).
