Abstract

A method is disclosed for the reduction of the peak-to-average power ratio of a multicarrier signal. The method comprises the following steps: (a) detecting locations at which the amplitude of the signal is above a predetermined value; (b) applying a non-linear process, so that the amplitudes at those locations are below or equal to the predetermined value; (c) restoring orthogonality between the subcarriers.
