The invention concerns a device for fixing a spoke to a bicycle wheel rim comprising a connecting endpiece (12) whereof the outer wall is threaded at least locally to fit the diameter and the pitch of the rim tapped bore (7), and a nut (14) tapped to fit the diameter and the pitch of the spoke threaded end, the nut having an enlarged head (25). The connecting endpiece has an inner through housing (20) whereof the inside wall is locally contracted to form a retaining seat (21) for a nut head, extended by an opening for the body of the nut or the body of the spoke. The device is characterised in that the orifice (60) of the connecting endpiece opposite the opening is closed at least partly so as to prevent the nut head from projecting outside the inner housing. The closure is produced by a directly mounted sleeve (61). It can also be produced by a local deformation of the connecting endpiece wall.
