Abstract

The invention relates to a method for determining the volume (V) of a gas-filled chamber, involving the following steps: the initial pressure (p) and the initial temperature (T) of the gas are measured; a given amount of a medium having the constant test volume (ΔV) is introduced into the chamber; the changes in the pressure (Δp) and the temperature (ΔT) of the gas are measured; and the volume (V) is determined on the basis of the given test volume (ΔV) and the measured values of initial pressure (p), initial temperature (T), pressure change (Δp) and temperature change (ΔT), by means of a state equation for the gas. The invention also relates to a method for determining the volume (V) of a gas-filled chamber, involving the following steps: the initial pressure (p) and the initial temperature (T) of the gas are measured; a given amount of gas having the test molar amount (Δn) is introduced into the chamber; the changes in the pressure (Δp) and the temperature (ΔT) of the resulting gas mixture are measured; and the volume (V) is determined on the basis of the given test molar amount (Δn) and the measured values of initial pressure (p), initial temperature (T), pressure change (Δp) and temperature change (ΔT), by means of a state equation for the gas.
