  • a pressure switch (not shown) is connected in the hydraulic line such that when the lifting tray (13) is lowered to the ground a piston causes the tailgate to be lowered to the ground, such that a wheel chair can be rolled onto the lifting tray (13).
  • the tailgate is connected to a pivot rod that is rotated by the piston, by means of wires connected to cams on the pivot rod.
  • the tray (13) is then raised, by extending the hydraulic ram (18), which lengthens the diagonal across the swing arm (8) causing the swing arm (8) to swing upwardly.
  • the tailgate pivots to an upright position, preventing the wheel chair from rolling rearwardly out of the tray (13).

Abstract

Appareil à plate-forme de levage destiné à un fauteuil roulant, conçu pour être monté sur le plancher (2) d'un véhicule. On fait glisser la plate-forme de levage à l'extérieur du véhicule et on l'abaisse jusqu'au niveau du sol pour assurer l'accès à la plate-forme de levage; pour la remettre en position de transport, on l'élève au-dessus du plancher du véhicule et on la fait glisser à l'intérieur de ce dernier. L'appareil à plate-forme de levage comprend une paire de glissières opposées (3) conçues pour être reliées au plancher (2) du véhicule. Une paire de bras pivotants (8) est conçue pour coulisser le long des premières glissières (3); chacun possède une extrémité libre reliée à une deuxième paire de glissières (9). La plate-forme de levage est conçue pour coulisser le long des deuxièmes glissières et entre celles-ci. Chaque bras pivotant a la forme d'une tringlerie parallèle et comprend un système de fonctionnement relié à travers une de ses diagonales. Lorsqu'on fait glisser la plate-forme coulissante à l'extérieur du véhicule, par modification de la longueur de la diagonale, le bras pivotant déplace la plate-forme de levage entre une position en contact avec le sol et une position au-dessus du plancher du véhicule. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, des câbles Bowden tirent la plate-forme le long des glissières.
