OBJETO DE LA INVENCIÓNOBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present specification refers to a lifting roof for car wagons, whose obvious purpose is to be configured as a cover that applied to a railway car intended to be used as a car carrier, acts to protect cars during transport by rail, preventing their deterioration by atmospheric agents, catenary dripping on electrified rail lines, or by vandalism.
The invention is capable of being installed on car wagons of different models, without requiring structural changes.
CAMPO DE LA INVENCIÓNFIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention has its application within the industry dedicated to the manufacture of appliances, devices and protective elements applicable in railroad cars.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓNBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Rail car transport is carried out by car-carrier cars, due to transport efficiency criteria, these are each increasingly longer and at the same time narrower due to the demands of clearance in the curves.
This trend cited above, means that tourism-type cars must be placed in the cars on two floors, lower level and upper level, and in rows one by one to be able to transport as many vehicles as possible, it should be noted that these cars must also have dimensions such that they are contained within the clearance limits.
The car-carrier wagons are usually discovered, not having the upper roof level, because the existing one should stick in its dimensions to the tunnel gauge.
In the event that they had a roof, the loading and unloading operations of the vehicles would be uncomfortable and difficult because the low height of the roofs and their inclination make it difficult to open the doors of the vehicles and the access of the operators to them to proceed to its loading and / or unloading.
The transport of cars in cars with roofs has the great advantage of preventing the deterioration of vehicles by atmospheric agents, such as snow, hail, etc., and at the same time protecting the vehicle from possible dripping of the catenary on electrified rail lines, or acts of vandalism, such as stoning, etc.
Fixed ceilings have a series of drawbacks such as the difficulty of carrying out loading and / or unloading operations due to their low height and inclination, since they must be adjusted to the gauge, and the loss of light and ventilation, made this very important in the loading of vehicles due to the exhaust gases that occur when moving cars.
Ideally, the car wagons have a movable roof, that is, that can be opened in one way or another to carry out the loading and / or unloading of vehicles and allow good ventilation and lighting.
However, it must be taken into account that the curved shape of the roof construction in railroad cars is subject to the aerodynamic forces exerted by the winds that blow at the sides of the car and / or those generated by it on the fly.
If the side walls of the wagon are not solid, these forces analogous to the ascending forces that occur on the wings of the airplanes must be taken into account so that they do not deteriorate the roofs, especially when loading and / or unloading operations are performed in open classification beaches.
Another important factor to keep in mind is that the use of car-carrier platforms can be carried out in the most adverse weather conditions and providing that these roofs can be opened even with snow accumulated therein of up to 100 kgr / m 2 .
A saber:The problems posed by fixed ceilings They have tried to solve in various ways. Namely:
Using a roof whose roof portion can be raised rectilinearly using pneumatic cylinders, it has been found that this system has the disadvantage that it is easy for said roof to be heavy and expensive, or when a cheap and light solution is attempted, it is vulnerable to strong winds and deterioration.
Lifting the roof by means of threaded rods, which also restrict the movements of the roof in the open position as in the Invention Patent DE-1218491, it being found that this invention has the disadvantage that its design is heavy and expensive, in addition to being subjected to considerable wind forces when the roof has opened.
Raising the roof by means of bars connected at one end to the ceiling and at the other to a windlass and mobiles in a vertical guide as described in the Patent of Invention FR 1503791, has the disadvantage that there is no structural characteristic to prevent the roof rise under the effect of aerodynamic elevation produced by the wind, in addition to being vulnerable to snow accumulation in it.
Open a roof whose roof structure is split along the middle line of the roof and the two side halves of the roof thus obtained move up and out of the carriage, turning on pivots located at the bottom edges of the walls, for loading as described in Invention Patent GB 2101548, It has the disadvantage that this structure is vulnerable to winds and the accumulation of snow in it.
Open a roof whose roof structure is split along the midline of the roof and the two side halves of the roof thus obtained are moved up and out of the freight car as described in the Invention Patent FI 896324, It has the disadvantage that this structure is vulnerable to winds and the accumulation of snow in it.
Opening a roof by turning it on one of its sides, mobilizing it on hinges located on the edge of the corresponding side as described in the Patent of Invention ES 2060243, has the disadvantage that this structure is very vulnerable to lateral winds and the accumulation of Snow in it.
The obvious solution to the current problem in this area would be to have an elevating roof for car wagons that would rise from the rest position when operating an electric, pneumatic or manual device to the working position, in which will not contemplate the anomalies and inconveniences found so far.
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓNHowever, the applicant is not aware of the current existence of an invention that is endowed with the characteristics indicated above as suitable. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The lifting roof for car wagons object of the invention is constituted with the roof structure and the associated mechanism, it being possible to achieve a substantial improvement over the other known systems, having as a more important advantage the fact of being able to obtain sufficient height, lighting and ventilation with a robust structure, simple, easy to use and safe.
Specifically, the elevating roof has a rectangular plan of the same width as the car in which it is to be installed. A car according to its length can be covered with one or several elevating roofs, and therefore the length of the roof or the assembly formed by the roofs that are installed, must be the same as that of the car to be covered.
In summary, the elevating roof can work alone, as an insulated element; or combined with others forming a set, always in a coordinated way, it is important to highlight that the lifting roof or the set of lifting roofs will have such dimensions, that one installed or installed in the car, allow the maximum possible cargo volume without ever exceeding the rail gauge.
The lifting roof is formed by the cover, the support structure of the cover, the lifting mechanism and the supports, the cover being fixed to the support structure of the cover, and this in turn is attached to the supports by the mechanism of elevation. When the lifting mechanism is actuated in the direction of opening, the support of the cover rises and with it the cover, producing this elevation diagonally, upwards and to the side.
When the lifting mechanism is actuated in the closing direction, the cover support descends and with it the cover, this descent occurring diagonally, and in the opposite direction to the opening direction.
The cover can be formed by one or several pieces of flexible material such as canvas, etc .; or of rigid material such as phenolic resin, etc., being fixed to the support structure of the roof by means of the anchoring system most appropriate to the type of material used in each case.
The support structure of the roof is a succession of curved or broken metal arches, fixed to two metal stringers.
The lifting mechanism is formed by two mechanical assemblies that each act on a crossbar, and each mechanical assembly is formed by an actuator, two or more metal brackets that rotate on an axis located at one of its vertices and an articulated wheelhouse that transmits the movement between the squares, the actuator printing a rotating movement to one of the squares and this in turn moves the rest of the squares by means of the wheelhouse.
The actuator provides a linear movement in both directions, and the brackets transform this movement in another rotating movement and transmit it to the support structure of the roof, which rises or descends as appropriate.
The actuator can be hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, or manual, using a winch or rack jack in this configuration.
The squares are metal pieces with an axis of rotation attached to the support in one of its vertices and two other axes of rotation in the other two vertices, one subject to the wheelhouse and the other subject to the corresponding crossbar.
El mecanismo de elevación está unido con la estructura del vagón, mediante los soportes, existiendo tantos soportes como escuadras y pueden fijarse a las paredes laterales o al piso superior del vagónThe lifting mechanism is connected to the structure of the car, by means of the supports, there are as many supports as squares and can be fixed to the side walls or to the upper floor of the car

De esto modo cuando las escuadras realizan un movimiento circular, el larguero (33) asciende o desciende según el sentido del citado movimiento.(24) and (30) are joined to the crossbar (33), by means of the turning axes (28), in relation to the square (24) and (34) in relation to the square (30). In this way, when the squares make a circular movement, the stringer (33) ascends or descends according to the direction of said movement.
There are two sets formed by the actuator (22), brackets (24) and (30) and the relevant wheelhouse, each associated with a crossbar (33).
It should be noted that the arches (35) are fixed to the stringers (33), and the cover (1) is fixed on the arches (35).
The result is configured as a cover (1) solidly fixed to the car (50) by means of a lifting mechanism and supports.
When the actuators (22) move, this movement is transmitted to the lifting mechanisms and through them to the cover (1), which rises in an upward movement and to the opposite side to that on which the actuators are located.
The result is again that the roof cover (1) rises high enough to allow loading and / or unloading work comfortably and with good lighting and ventilation.
