Abstract

A DNA fragment upstream of the rice Oshox1 gene or portions or variants of the DNA fragment wherein the DNA fragment or portions or variants thereof are capable of promoting vascular expression of an associated DNA sequence upon reintroduction into a plant, typically wherein vascular expression of the associated DNA sequence enables production of an antipathogenic protein.
