Abstract

The aim of the invention is to provide network adaptation devices and a corresponding method which facilitate an enhanced voice quality. According to the invention, a second data stream (6-14) is formed, said second data stream containing second and third structure elements, from a first data stream (4) which is comprised of a sequence of first structure elements (20) containing compressed data. The second structure elements contain the compressed data and the third structure elements do not contain any data. The network adaptation device (2) comprises means for receiving or transmitting the first and second data streams and comprises means for generating the second or first data stream from the first or second data stream.
