Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for refueling a machine tool, in particular an automatic lathe, in bars to be machined, comprising a feed channel aligned on the axis of the machine tool and means for introduce bars one by one in this channel.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to create a feeder making it possible to store a large number of bars and operating in a completely reliable manner, even in the case where the bars are of small diameter.
- the device according to the invention relates to a device for refueling a machine tool, in particular an automatic lathe, in bars to be machined, comprising a feed channel aligned on the axis of the machine tool. and means for introducing bars one by one into this channel, said means comprising
- a fixed tank capable of containing a reserve of bars stacked in bulk in the longitudinal direction, having a rectilinear upper longitudinal edge
- At least one repetitive action gripping mechanism arranged so as to grip at least one portion in the tray a bar and pull it to a determined position located above the receptacle
- At least one alignment mechanism comprising at least one member which moves in the longitudinal direction and gradually withdraws from the tank the whole of the bar gripped by the gripping mechanism, so as to place the whole of the bar in the receptacle
- FIG. 1 is a general plan view from above of the entire device, the cover of the gripping mechanism being removed,
- FIG. 2 is a sectional view along line 2-2 of FIG. 1 showing the frame of the gripping mechanism
- FIG. 3 is a partially cut elevation view showing the frame of the gripping mechanism seen in profile
- FIG. 4 is a front elevation view of the frame of the gripping mechanism
- FIGS. 5, 6 and 7 are views: in section along line 5-5 of FIG. 1, in longitudinal elevation and in top plan showing the alignment mechanism,
- FIG. 8 is a sectional view along line 8-8 of FIG. 1 showing the auxiliary clamp
- Figure 9 is a sectional view along line 9-9 of Figure 1 showing the bar ends ejection mechanism.
- FIG. 1 Figure 1
- FIG. 2 Figure 2
- FIG. 2 The left flank, in FIG. 2, of the tank 5 is equipped with a narrow insert 7 which forms the upper longitudinal edge of the tank and extends in a straight line horizontally over its entire length.
- the actual supply channel is a U-shaped groove 8 formed in a conduit 9.
- the latter is fixed directly under the edge 7.
- the groove 8 is normally covered by a receptacle 16, a member which will be described later.
- conduit 9 is extended by a rigid tubular guide 10 which comprises at its end right a base 11 mounted to pivot about a vertical axis. These elements are part of a drive mechanism designated by 12, which will be described in more detail later.
- Bars to be machined 13 are piled up in bulk but in a parallel arrangement in the tank 5.
- a gripping mechanism 14 is arranged so as to grip a bar 13 and only one, by its median part, and to remove this middle part to the top of the edge 7 while an alignment mechanism 15 lifts the bar gripped by the mechanism 14 gradually and gradually from the center towards the two ends, after which the middle part of the bar is released and the whole of the bar falls on the receptacle 16 which is then displaced obliquely upwards, revealing the channel 8 in which the bar 13 falls.
- the mechanism 12 as well as other auxiliary mechanisms which will be described later can then intervene and ensure the engagement of the bar 13 in the control members of the lathe, its progressive advance as the machining takes place and finally the withdrawal of the non-machinable bar end towards the rear, its release and its ejection.
- This mechanism consists of a movable block 17 having in its lateral faces guide slides 18 which are mounted on rails integral with an oblique transverse bridge 19 (FIG. 1) fixed to the frame 1 of the device, in the middle of its length.
- a motor 21 fixed by screws on a spacer 20 of the frame 1 drives a pinion 22 engaged in a rack 23 ( Figures 3 and 4) to move the movable block 17 back and forth comes on deck 19.
- Figure 2 shows the rest position and, in phantom, a working position of this block.
- the movable block has various arrangements, the most important of which are the two end portions 24 'and 24 "of a jaw 24 ( Figures 3 and 4 ) which pivots on a horizontal transverse axis 25, and an elastic blade 26 fixed along its upper edge by two screws perpendicular to the direction of to-and-fro of the block 17.
- the jaw 24 is provided with a heel at its rear end and this heel is articulated on a link 27 connected by an eccentric articulation to a pinion 28 which meshes in a pinion 29 wedged on the output shaft of an engine 30.
- Figures 2 and 3 clearly show how the jaw 24 is controlled according to the movement d 'advance of the movable block 17 so as to hang a bar of the stack present in the tray 5 between its two end parts 24' and 24 "and a lower tab 70.
- the elastic blade 26 serves to control, cooperating with a proximity sensor 31, that only one bar and one has been seized.
- a coil 32 mounted on a central axis 33, a guided pin 34 and an adjustment screw 35 make it possible to exactly adjust the organs of the mechanism as a function of the diameter bars 13.
- a pro control gram controlled by the detectors described ensures that if the back and forth movement of the movable block 17 has not produced the gripping of a bar by its middle part, the movement is repeated as many times as necessary. It can also be provided that after a certain number of movements which have been ineffective, the machine stops and an alarm is triggered.
- the alignment mechanism 15, which then comes into action, is partially shown in Figure 1, in section in Figure 5 and in elevation and in plan in Figures 6 and 7. It has a longitudinal profile 36 fixed by its two ends to the front faces of the frame 1, themselves supported by the profile 1.
- Two carriages 37 supported and guided by rollers 38 can travel along the profile 36.
- the carriages 37 are driven by an endless belt 39 which rotates on pulleys 40 mounted at both ends of the section 36 and of which the one which is located at the left end in FIGS. 6 and 7 is coupled to a motor 41.
- the section 36 has in particular two grooves opposite longitudinal in which pass on the one hand the two strands of the belt 39 and on the other hand the rollers 38.
- the frames of the carriages 37 have four fixed axes carrying the rollers 38, a bottom and two side walls whose upper ends connect the axes of the castors 38 and the central parts of which comprise on one side a rib 42 against which the corresponding strand of the belt 39 is fixed by a rivet.
- each of the carriages 37 carries a vertical cylindrical rod 43 which extends downwards and on which slides a roller 44 of concave cylindrical shape whose side cooperates with a ramp of short length designated by 45 in FIGS. 5, 6, 7.
- FIG. 6 shows the carriages 37 in asymmetrical positions, in order to show the extreme positions of the rollers 44 in height, these two carriages are in fact always at the same distance from the middle part of the chassis.
- the gripping mechanism 14 acts, they are in close positions and the rollers 44 are held by the ramp 45 in the upper position, that is to say in the position in phantom in Figure 5.
- the mechanism input therefore has free rein to lift the central part of a bar and bring it to position 13a in Figure 2 (also identified in Figure 5).
- the carriages allow the rollers to slide on the descending parts of the ramp 45 so that the lower edge of each roller hooks an intermediate part of the bar still resting on the pile of bars in the tank 5 and raises it to bring it into position 13b in FIG. 5. It is understood that when the movement of the carriages is complete and that the jaws 24 have released the bar, it is then extended in a rectilinear position on the receptacle 16.
- the receptacle 16 extends over the entire length of the device and covers the groove 8 which constitutes the supply channel. It is visible in Figures 1, 2, 5, 8 and 9. In fact it is subdivided into four segments each comprising a narrow plate 46 carrying on its underside two parallel racks 47 meshing in pinions 48, the eight pinions 48 being wedged on the same axis 49 coupled to a single motor (not shown). This motor makes it possible to move the whole of the receptacle obliquely upwards with a regular translational movement so that the bar 13 resting on the elements 46 is retained by the stops formed by the intermediate partitions 50 (FIG. 1). It is therefore collected in channel 8.
- Figure 8 shows the self-centering auxiliary clamp arranged as seen in Figure 1 near the right end of the tank and the receptacle.
- the conduit 9 is interrupted and a fixed block 51 fixed to a crosspiece carries a motor 53 driving two pinions of the same diameter 54 each of which meshes in a toothed sector 55, 56 secured to a gripper claw 57.
- the two sectors teeth 55, 56 are coaxial, rotate in opposite directions and perform approximately a quarter turn each time they are driven.
- the scissors are shown in solid lines in the closed position. They enclose the rear end of the bar 13 and maintain it in a position exactly centered with respect to the supply channel 8, whatever the diameter of this bar. In phantom, we see the opening position of the clamp 57.
- the drive mechanism 12 in fact comprises a push rod member constituted by a flexible cable 58 notched in its length, which extends parallel to the tank 5 in a tubular guide 59, carries out in this guide an arc of a circle of 180 degrees then passes over a pinion 60 actuated by a motor 61 (FIG. 1).
- the bar pusher 58 is visible in particular in FIGS. 2, 5, 8 and 9.
- the guide 10 is pivotally mounted around the axis of the base 11 and, in in its normal position, it is fixed by a screw connection 62 to the rear end of the conduit 9. However, it can be moved laterally after unscrewing the connection 62, which gives access to the bar clamp incorporated in the rotary end piece. It is interchangeable and can therefore be precisely adapted to the diameter of the bars.
- the motor 61 is started so as to move the push-rod cable to the left in the guide 10 and engage the clamp on the bar. Then the clamp 57 is open and the motor 62 can gradually drive the bar to the left as the machining takes place.
- FIG. 8 and 9 show that a end segment of the conduit 9 with a length of about 40 cm is shaped differently from what is shown in Figures 2 and 5.
- the channel 8 is formed in a fixed bar of rectangular profile, like the conduit 9, it is formed in a bar segment 63 which pivots about a longitudinal axis 64 integral with a toothed sector 65 which meshes in a pinion 66 driven by a motor (not shown).
- An ejection plate 67 is disposed under the pivoting profile 63.
- the gripping mechanism arranged so as to grip the bar in its middle part in the device which is described above, can also be arranged so as to grip the bar at one or the other of its ends.
- the bar alignment device 15 can be replaced by any suitable member, for example a hooking finger, which is moved in the longitudinal direction.
- two gripping devices can be provided, for example so as to grip the bar at each of its ends.
