Description

APPAREIL POUR SUPPORTER UNE JAMBE D'UN PATIENT POUR LA CHIRURGIE DU GENOU APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING A LEG OF A PATIENT FOR KNEE SURGERY
Domaine techniqueTechnical area
The invention relates to an apparatus for use in the operating room, in the field of knee surgery.
The apparatus currently used for knee surgery comprises a jack whose rod supports an axis which extends transversely to the jack rod and carries a cradle intended to support the leg of a patient. This arrangement of the various members reveals a significant lateral torque formed by the weight of the supported leg and the length of the axis carrying the cradle. This torque being fully applied to the head of the jack and to its rod, quickly leads to a deterioration and a malfunction thereof. In addition, due to its position, this type of bar hinders the surgeon in performing his act and makes it difficult to use any equipment that may prove very useful.
Exposé de l'inventionStatement of the invention
The invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and for this purpose it provides an apparatus as defined in the claims.
The apparatus according to the invention comprises a cradle bar attached to the end of a crank coupled to the rod of a jack by means of coupling means arranged so that the sliding of the jack rod causes the crank to rotate about a pivot axis.
In a particular embodiment, the aforementioned coupling means comprise a link having one end pivotally attached to the rod of the jack while the other end of the link carries an axis integral with the crank.
Thanks to the invention, the torque, harmful but inevitable, is neutralized by the axis of rotation and its bearings. The actuator can therefore work in traction or in thrust along its own longitudinal axis and without lateral constraint, which avoids the drawbacks mentioned above of the known device. In addition, the position of the jack is offset relative to the bar carrying the cradle, and this creates appreciable free space for the surgeon or for the placement of any device.
An embodiment of the invention is described in the following using the drawings joim.s.
Description sommaire des dessinsBrief description of the drawings
La figure 2 est une vue de côté de l'appareil de la figure 1.Figure 1 is a front view of an apparatus according to the invention, in the deployed position. Figure 2 is a side view of the apparatus of Figure 1.
Description d'un mode de réalisationFigure 3 shows the apparatus of Figure 2, in the retracted position. Description of an embodiment
Le berceau 10 est fixé sur deux bagues 11 montées sur la barre 9.In the drawings, the reference numeral 1 designates a support plate 1 provided with a fixing means 2 intended to fix the device to an operating table. The attachment means on the operating table is only shown as an example; it can be different depending on the type of table on which the device must be adapted and it does not intervene in the system anyway. On the support plate 1 is fixed a bracket 3 serving to support a jack 4. The rod 5 of the jack 4 is attached by a pivot to one end of a link 6 whose other end is fixed on a pivot axis 7 crossing the support plate 1. The pivot axis 7 is coupled to a crank 8 carrying at its end a bar 9 carrying a cradle 10 intended to support a leg of a patient. The cradle 10 is fixed on two rings 11 mounted on the bar 9.
The actuator can be controlled from any means, for example a pedal device (not shown) connected to the actuator by the cord 12 and generating a control signal to cause the deployment of the actuator and a control signal to cause retraction of the cylinder.
The actuator can be of any type, for example an actuator with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic control. It could also be replaced by any device capable of generating rotary movements in opposite directions, for example a geared motor group.
Figures 1 and 2 show the cylinder in the deployed state and the assembly ready to support the left leg of a pa- is holding. When the jack 3 retracts, the rod 6 is rotated to the right (clockwise) around the longitudinal axis of the pivot 7 and the pivot axis 7 in turn drives the crank 8 in rotation towards the right (see Figure 3). This rotation lasts as long as the control signal applied to the actuator or stops automatically after having described a certain angle (80 ° for example) by any means, for example an electric microswitch integrated into the actuator, a stop or others. By the rotation of the crank 8, the cradle 7 is brought into the desired position to present the patient's leg to the operator in the desired position.
By virtue of the rotation of the crank 8 about its pivot axis 7, the jack 4 works in traction or in thrust along its own longitudinal axis and without undergoing any lateral constraint. In addition, being dé¬ wedged relative to the bar 'carrying the cradle 10, the position of the actuator 4 provides a free space appri¬ able for the surgeon or for the placement of any device.
For an intervention on the right leg, it suffices, after having put the jack in the retracted state, to rotate the crank 8 around its pivot 7 until in its position offset by 180 ° with respect to the position shown in FIG. 2 (jack deployed), and rotate the cradle 10 around the bar 9.
The embodiment described above and illustrated in the drawings is an example given by way of illustration and the invention is in no way limited to this example. Any modification, any variant and any equivalent arrangement must be considered as part of the inventory.
