Abstract
A hypodermic syringe needle guard device for preventing post-injection needlestick accidents is disclosed. The device removes any risk of sticking with a contaminated needle following injection. The device consists of a hypodermic syringe (5) provided with a flange (6), a plunger (9) and a groove (7), and a cylindrical barrel (1) with a bevelled edge (3) and an inner projection (2). Following injection, the user manually pushes the cylindrical barrel (1) until the projection (2) engages the groove (7). The needle is then shielded, there is no risk of a needlestick accident, and the syringe cannot be reused.

Actuellement, le seul dispositif connu sur le marché est un capuchon que l'on met sur l'aiguille après usage, ce qui n'élimine pas les risques de piqûres. Le dispositif selon l'invention permet de remédier à cet inconvénient. Il comporte, en effet, selon une première caractéristique, un tube cylindrique transparent de même composition que la seringue utilisée actuellement.
