Abstract

The invention discloses an air piece sheet. Air-tight cavity portions (2 and 2') are formed on high density soft synthetic resin films (1 and 1'), and the two films are overlapped to be heat-bonded, thereby obtaining a unit air piece sheet (4). A plurality of such unit air piece sheets (4) are arranged in the form of grid, and then, synthetic resin fabrics (5 and 5') are overlapped with the arranged air piece sheets. Then joining portions (6 and 6') are sewed up, or flanges (3 and 3') which are formed around the air cavities are heat-bonded, thereby obtaining an air piece cloth (7). The air piece cloth thus obtained is cut to proper sizes to be used in making a working uniform by inserting it into between the inner and outer cloths (9 and 10) of the working uniform (8). The air piece sheet assures of lightweight, heat-insulation, shock-absorbing, and floating effects.

Description

AIR PIECE SHEET FOR USE ON VARIOUS GARMENTS
Field of the invention
The present invention relates to an air piece sheet for use on various garments, in which two air-tight cavity portions are formed on two high density soft synthetic resin films, then the two films are combined in such a manner as to form a plurality of air cavities between them in an air-tight state, and such unit sheets of air piece cloth are inserted into between the inner and outer cloths of a garment, so that the air-tight air cavities should have the function of heat-insulating, and cushioning, as well as floating in water. Further, if the device of the present invention is applied to a bed mattress in the form of dual layers, then the cushioning springs can be omitted.
Background of the invention
The conventional air bag or air pack has a single air cavity for filling air in an air-tight state, and therefore, it can be ruptured upon being hit by a sharp object or upon being subjected to an impact. In such a case, the whole amount of the air filled in the air cavity is discharged, thereby losing its original function. Further, the heat-insulating effect and the cushioning effect cannot be expected. Particularly, in the case of the air bag or the air pack, its volume is large, and therefore, it cannot be applied to various apparels.
Summary of the invention
The present invention is intended to overcome the above described disadvantages of the conventional techniques. Therefore it is the object of the present invention to provide an air piece sheet which can be applied to garments, hats and swimming suits, and which can protect a human body upon being subjected to an impact owing to the cushioning and shock absorbing effects of the air cavities, can give a chill insulating effect in winter seasons, and can protect one from being drowned owing to its floating effect.
The unit air piece sheets can be joined in a planar form, and upper and lower synthetic fabrics can be attached to the joined air piece sheets, with the joining portion of the air piece sheets being sewed up by a sewing machine. Or alternatively, the joining portions can be bonded by applying heat and pressure. The air piece cloth thus prepared can be used in manufacturing working uniforms, trousers, hats, vests and the like. Brief description of the drawings
The above object and other advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing in detail the preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings in which:
Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of the air piece sheet of the present invention having air-tight cavity portions;
Figure 2 is a plan view showing a state in which a plurality of the air piece sheets are joined together in a planar form, synthetic fabrics are covered, and a bonding is performed by applying heat and pressure according to the present invention;
Figure 3 is an enlarged longitudinal sectional view of the device of Figure 2;
Figure 4 illustrates another embodiment of the present invention;
Figure 5 is an enlarged longitudinal sectional view of the device of Figure 4; Figure 6 illustrates an exemplary case in which the device of the present invention is used in a working cloth;
Figure 7 illustrates another exemplary case in which the device of the present invention is applied to a hat;
Figure 8 illustrates still another exemplary case in which the device of the present invention is applied to a vest;
Figure 9 illustrates still another exemplary case in which the device of the present invention is applied to a trouser; and Figure 10 illustrates still another exemplary case in which the device of the present invention is applied to a bed mattress.
Description of the preferred embodiments Semi-spherical air-tight cavity portions 2 and 2' are formed on soft synthetic resin films 1 and 1', and the two films are overlapped. Then flanges 3 and 3' are bonded by applying heat and pressure, thereby forming a unit synthetic resin air piece sheet 4 having an air-tight cavity. A plurality of such air piece sheets 4 are arranged on a synthetic resin fabrics 5 in the form of grids, and then, another synthetic resin fabrics 5' is covered on the arrangement of the air piece sheets 4. Then connecting portions 6 and 6' of the flanges 3 and 3' of the films 1 and 1' are sewed up by a sewing machine, or bonded by applying heat and pressure, thereby forming an air piece cloth 7. This air piece cloth 7 is cut to a proper size which is to be inserted into between the inner and outer cloths of working uniform. Thus working uniforms 8 are manufactured, and further, the air piece cloth 7 can be applied to wears such as hats 11, vests 12, trousers 13, bed mattresses 14 and the like.
The air-tight cavity portions 2 and 2 ' can be formed either in a semi-spherical shape or rectangular shape. Further, the synthetic fabrics 5 and 5' can be omitted to use only the bare synthetic resin air piece sheet 4 on a garment.
According to the device of the present invention, synthetic resin air piece sheet 4 is made by overlapping two high density soft synthetic resin sheets 1 and 1' to form air-tight cavity portions 2 and 2 ' . The air-tight cavity portions 2 and 2 ' are filled with air, and therefore, they give cushioning and shock absorbing effect. The air piece sheet 4 can be used only by sewing up a plurality of them, or synthetic resin fabrics 5 and 5' are covered up and below the air piece sheet 4, in which case the flanges 3 and 3 are bonded by applying heat and pressure. Then the air piece sheet thus prepared can be used by inserting into between the inner and outer cloths of a garment. A garment made by using the device of the present invention gives heat-insulating and cushioning effects, and therefore, the garment can protect the human body upon being subjected to an impact such as a collision. Further owing to the heat-insulating and floating effects of the device of the present invention, the human body can be thermally protected, and drowning can be prevented. Further the light weight of the device of the present invention makes it possible to conveniently use in garments. Further, as the plurality of the air-tight cavities 2 and 2 ' are independently formed respectively, even if one of them is ruptured, all the other air-tight cavities are not affected. Further, if the device of the present invention is applied to a bed mattress 14, the cushioning springs can be omitted, and still, heat- insulating and cushioning effects can be obtained.
