Abstract

Use of electrolytes in aqueous cosmetic cleaning agents or for the aqueous cleaning of certain cleaning agent concentrates containing little or no water. The electrolyte(s) are present in concentrations higher than 6 % of the overall weight of the cleaning agent or concentrate, in order to control and prevent dermatoses, in particular dandruff, and to prevent penetration of the surface-active substances contained in the cleaning agents and/or other substances contained in said cleaning agents into the external dermal layers.

Description

Beschreibung description
Verwendung von hohen Elektrolytkonzentrationen in kosmetischen ReinigungsmittelnUse of high electrolyte concentrations in cosmetic cleaning agents
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft kosmetische Reini¬ gungsmittel .The present invention relates to cosmetic cleaning agents.
Such means are known per se. These are essentially surface-active substances or mixtures of substances which are offered to the consumer in various preparations.
Preparations of this type are, for example, foam and shower baths, solid and liquid soaps or so-called "syndets" (synthetic detergents), shampoos, hand wash pastes, intimate detergents, special cleaning agents for small children and the like.
Surface-active substances - best known are the alkali salts of higher fatty acids, ie the classic "soaps" - are amphiphilic substances that can emulsify organic non-polar substances in water.
These substances not only wash away dirt from the skin and hair, they irritate the skin and mucous membranes to a greater or lesser extent, depending on the choice of surfactant or mixture of surfactants. The most common surfactant for cosmetic compositions is sodium lauryl ether sulfate. Although it has good washing power and is somewhat compatible with the skin and mucous membrane, sensitive people should avoid frequent contact with it.
Although a large number of very mild surfactants are available, the surfactants of the prior art are either mild, but clean poorly, or they clean well, but irritate skin or mucous membranes.
It was therefore the object of the present invention to remedy the shortcomings of the prior art.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the use of electrolytes in aqueous cosmetic cleaning agents or water-poor or water-free cleaning agent concentrations intended for aqueous cleaning, the electrolyte (s) being present in higher concentrations than 6% by weight, based on the total weight of the cleaning agents or the concentrates are present, for combating and prophylaxis of dermatoses, in particular dandruff, and for preventing the penetration of the surface-active substances contained in the cleaning agents and / or other substances contained in these cleaning agents into the outer layers of the skin.
In solchen Zusammensetzungen betragen die Elektro¬ lytkonzentrationen im allgemeinen etwa 1 - 3 Gew.-%.The use of table salt and other electrolytes in aqueous cleaning agents has been known for a long time. In such formulations, they serve as a consistency agent in conjunction with certain surface-active substances. In such compositions, the electrolyte concentrations are generally about 1-3% by weight.
Furthermore. EP-OS 0 447 519 describes the use of water-soluble, compatible with surfactants without precipitation Alkali, alkaline earth or aluminum salts of inorganic or organic anions in an amount of at least 2% by weight, preferably at least 5% by weight (calculated as anhydrous salt), for preserving preservative-free, liquid, water-containing surfactant systems holding 2-50% by weight, preferably 5-35% by weight of one or more surfactants.
Pickling and the associated preservative effect have been known since ancient times.
Knowing the latter document, which does not go beyond confirming the preserving effect of high salt concentrations in this regard, the person skilled in the art would have been led to the conclusion that electrolytes in higher concentration, namely by their os oti - effective, biocidal properties.
It is not uncommon for an antimicrobial effect, especially if it is not directed against specific microbial biochemical processes, but is based on principles of action that are equivalent for all living beings, is a harmful effect on humans, at best ineffectiveness, connected.
Consequently, this document leads in the opposite direction to the present invention.
It was astonishing and could not be predicted from the state of the art that if the teaching of technical action presented here is followed, preparations are obtainable which, from a dermatological point of view, are considerably milder than the preparations of the prior art.
It was also astonishing that either clear or pearlescent preparations of almost any viscosity are available which are stable in storage even under exceptional conditions.
It was also astonishing that preparations are available which allow daily skin washing without dehydration, dandruff, itching or signs of inflammation occurring even in persons considered sensitive.
In addition, it was astonishing that preparations are available which, even when using sensitizing ingredients, especially surfactants, greatly reduce the sensitizing or even allergic effects of such ingredients or prevent such ingredients from penetrating through the outer skin layers at all. netrate.
Finally, it was surprising that preparations are available which considerably reduce the tendency of the scalp to dandruff even with daily use.
Electrolytes for the purposes of the present invention are water-soluble alkali, ammonium, alkaline earth (including magnesium) and zinc salts of inorganic anions and any mixtures of such salts, whereby it must be ensured that these salts are pharmaceutically or cosmetically safe ¬ distinction.
