Abstract

The adjustable side light bracket consists of a bracket on which the side lights of the tractor are mounted. The bracket consists of an octagonal axle which is encased in the bearing bracket of the light bracket (2). The bearing bracket is designed so that it is octagonal on the inside. This has the effect that the light bracket can be placed in a vertical position (4) and be turned to 45° (5) and 90° (6) simply by grasping the bracket and turning it to the required position. The upper part of the bearing bracket (10) is formed like a tube so that the light bracket can be mounted onto it. An end piece onto which the side light is mounted at the other end of the bracket.

Description

Adjustable side light brackets for tractors indicating a wide load or the actual width of the tractor.
The invention is an adjustable side light bracket for tractors. The bracket arm has an 5 axle journal which is encased by the bearing bracket of the bracket arm.
/
The upper part of the bearing bracket is formed like a tube so that the light bracket can be mounted into it. The other end of the light bracket is fitted with an end piece on which the side light is mounted.
10 In the case of the invention a side light bracket of the type described in the intro¬ duction is produced, which will improve road safety for tractors as the side lights are mounted onto the mudguards of the tractor and can be seen above attached implements and in the case of tall loads, or when an extra wheel has been fitted, as the lights can swing out marking the actual width of the tractor.
15 According to the invention this is achieved by means of adjustable side light brackets of the type mentioned in the introduction and characterized by an octagonal axle journal(l) encased by an inner octagonal bearing bracket(2). The octagonal form causes the lights to swing to positions 4,5,6, at intervals of 45°.
20 The octagonal axle journal has the effect that the bearing bracket can be adjusted in the positions mentioned in the introduction, and that it will remain locked in these positions indicating a wide load or the actual width of the tractor. Thus is obtained an adjustable side light which retains its position and which is not affected by outside vibrations and loads.
25
The invention is described in greater detail with reference to the following diagrams in which:
fig.1. illustrates the adjustable lights, front view including the mentioned 30 positions. fig.2. illustrates the adjustable lights, side view. fig.3. illustrates the adjustable lights mounted onto a tractor Figures 1 and 2 show the octagonal axle journal. On this(lθ) 2 angle irons(9) are mounted, enabling the whole side light bracket to be mounted onto the mudguard of the tractor. The bearing bracket(2), which is formed on the inside like the octagonal axle journal(l) is first pushed over it. In this way the required positions 4,5,6 can be obtained by swinging the lights. The positions are secured on account of the oc¬ tagonal shape of the axle journal(l) and the bearing bracket(2). The upper part of the bearing bracket(2) is formed like a tube so that the bracket arm(3) can be mounted on the bearing bracket(2). The other end of the bracket arm is fitted with an end piece(7), the lower part of which is formed like a tube so that it can be fitted to the bracket arm(3).
Two holes(12) are bored in the end piece so that the side lights(8) can be mounted onto the end piece(7).
Fig.3 shows the adjustable lights mounted onto a tractor. This illustrates the principle of the invention and the placing of the lights.

Claims

Patent Claim
Adjustable side light brackets for tractors, characterized by an octagonal axle journal(l) contained by an inner octagular bearing bracket(2). The octagonal form has the effect that the light can swing out to positions 4,5,6, at intervals of 45°. The bearing bracket is formed so that it is octagonal on the inside.
This means that the bracket can be placed in a vertical position and turned to angles of 45° and 90° simply by grasping the bracket and swinging it to the desired position.
As such an adjustable light bracket is as yet unknown, I find it expedient that the pivot shaft is designed to be hand-operated and thus can be swung to the desired position. The octagonal pivot shaft is made from a very hard wearing material so that it can withstand very heavy loads. Thus we have an adjustable light which is quickly adjusted, extremely stable and very hard wearing.
