Abstract

Device for fixing a sprung head stem of handle-bars into the bicycle fork is formed in such a way that the fixing tube (1) possesses on its surface longitudinal slots (3) and is wedge-like ended at the bottom. Into the slots (3) are fitting the pull rods (2) reaching with their tips, provided by a thread, into a cap nut (7), resting on a supporting ring (8). The expanding wedge (5) is placed on the carrier (4) which is permanently connected with the pull rods (2).

Description

Device for fixing sprung head stem of bicycle handle-bars into the front fork
Technical Field
The invention relates to a device for fixing sprung head stem (stem assembly) of handle-bars into the bicycle front fork.
Backgroud Art
The fixing of the head stem of handle-bars into the bicycle front fork known hitherto is derived from the subject matter of the U.S. Patent Specification No. 4130 260, consisting in inserting the hollow column of the head stem or of the handle-bars into the hollow column of the front fork, said head stem having on its bottom part two lengthwise grooves and an inner conical bevelling. Into in there is drawn, by means of a screw, an expanding cone, pushing the bottom part of the head stem column or of the handlebars against the inner cylindrical ..surface of the front fork column, the friction thus developed ensures fixed connection of the two parts. A similar fixing mode is described in the Czechoslovak Patent No. 226 403, wherein between the free end of the handle-bars column or that of the head stem shaped as a truncated cone, and the free end of the front fork column a cylindrical nut with inner conical surface and at least one longitudinal slot is pushed in by means of a screw. Both modes of fixing possess the disadvantage that they do not allow linear motion of the head stem regarding the front fork column. Moreover, the axial screw makes impossible the utilization of the tube interior for springing the handle-bars. Disclosure of Invention
The above mentioned shortcomings are removed by the present device for fixing the sprung head stem of the handle-bars into the bicycle front fork, characterized by proving the fixing tube on its bottom end by a wedge-shaped ending and by at least two lengthwise slots on its surface. Into said slots longitudinal pull rods are fitting which are provided by a thread on their upper ends. The thread fits into a cap nut, resting on a supporting ring. The pull rods are, at their bottom, connected with the carrier of the expanding wedge resting thereon. The advantage of this device consists in the possibility of springing the head stem of the handle bars, utilizing, if desired, interior of the fixing tube.
Brief Description of Drawings in Fig.1 illustrates location of head stem in the frame of bicycle and it a axonometric representation. Fig. 2 illustrates a longitudinal section and cross section.
Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
The drawings shows diagrammatically an example of the invention. In this example is the fixing tube 1 on its bottom, provided by a wedge-shapeά ending 6. On the surface of said tube at least two slots (3) are symmetrically milled, into which slots the pull rods (2), provided at their tips by a thread are fitting. In their lower parts the pull rods are jointed into an entire tube, into which is fixed, by means of transversal pegs, the carrier (4) of the expanding wedge (5) resting thereon. On the upper part of the fixing tube (1) a can nut (7) is rotatably placed on the supporting ring (8). Industrial Applicability
The invention can be utilized wherever it is necessary to realize a dismountable joint of cylindrical parts into blind openings, under preserving the possibility of passing through the interior of said parts.
