Abstract

Afin d'éviter les problèmes posés par le raccourcissement de tuyaux métalliques inoxydables en les coupant transversalement, des machines à découper rotatives existent déjà et fonctionnent en poussant plusieurs roues coupantes contre une zone annulaire du tuyau et en les déplaçant le long de cette dernière. Cepedant, une telle opération nécessite une durée relativement longue, ainsi qu'une technicité particulière. D'après l'invention, on utilise un principe similaire mettant néanmoins en application un dosage automatique et réciproquement indépendant de la pression de coupe, ainsi que de la force ou de la vitesse de rotation respectivement, ce qui permet d'effectuer une coupe transversale rapidement et sans technicité particulière. Le dispositif comprend une bague de support extérieur (2) pourvue de mâchoires de serrage (4) servant à maintenir le tuyau en le centrant, ainsi que d'un élément annulaire (24) rotatif concentriquement et actionné par un moteur (28). Ledit élément annulaire (24) possède des supports (30) de roues coupantes (34) formant une saillie vers l'intérieur et chargée par ressort, ainsi que des moyens de commande (42, 38) servant à faire pivoter lesdits supports (30), de façon à pousser élastiquement lesdites roues coupantes contre le tuyau. Par l'intermédiaire d'une rotation rapide et motorisée de l'élément annulaire (24), les roues coupantes fonctionnent avec une pression élastique prédéterminée et relativement élevée contre le tuyau, ce qui permet de le sectionner transversalement en un minimum de temps.
