Definitions
- the invention relates to a damping medium as it is mainly used in door closers or vibration dampers for vehicles.
- a damping medium in a closed housing, which on the one hand influences the closing speed of the door and on the other hand reduces the vibrations caused by the unevenness of the road and thus keeps the body above it almost in a rest position.
- the damping device mainly consists of a piston-cylinder unit with overcurrent and bypass channels.
- a damping medium inside the cylinder which today mainly consists of an oil. Oil has very special requirements today. For example, There is no corrosion on the surrounding materials and the oil must maintain its viscosity in a very wide temperature range from approx. -40 ° C to + 60 ° C.
- Oil located in the vibration damper is not biodegraded and can, for example, contaminate or contaminate the drinking water.
- a door closer is described which is filled with a chemical substance.
- Japanese Patent 1-51488 A describes glycols which are used as a damping medium. Furthermore, in the book by Dieter Klarmann, 'Lubricants and related products' from 1982, pages 50 to 52 describe synthetic lubricants.
- the object of the invention is to find a damping medium which is based on native oils which are non-toxic and biodegradable, but with a certain viscosity and sufficient
- the object is achieved in that naturally biodegradable oils are used as the damping medium.
- the ester oils resulting from the modification of the natural oils can also be used successfully. These ester oils result from the fact that, for example, a natural fatty acid with a mono- or polyhydric alcohol under pressure, heat and / or addition of catalysts undergoes the chemical esterification reaction.
- All organic substances that are formed from the main elements carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen are basically biodegradable. This degradation of organic substances usually takes place through decomposition with microorganisms. These microorganisms are usually Bacteria, yeasts, fungi and unicellular organisms of all kinds. However, the degradability of all substances is generally highly dependent on external factors. These factors are, in particular, the period of degradation, the prerequisite for the life of microorganisms and the climatic conditions.
- the natural oil used has an appropriate oxidation behavior, i.e. it must either be a non-drying or: slightly drying natural oil. This is important so that aas oil does not start to resinify after a certain period of use. Take e.g. Rapeseed oil, which is naturally semi-drying, must be treated by a certain refining or treatment with a catalyst and pressure and heating so that it does not dry out. This treatment may also have to be carried out with other natural oils. Another crucial point is the freezing point. Since the damping media must also be used at sub-zero temperatures, it is important that the
- Freezing point of the natural oil is, if possible, well below 0oC. Because of these two basic requirements, the range of natural oils in question has already been narrowed enormously. Nevertheless, there are natural oils that meet these two requirements. In particular, these are sunflower oil, almond oil, rapeseed oil, grape seed oil, wheat germ oil, avocado oil, peach seed oil, claw oil and very particularly castor oil. However, in order to achieve good damping behavior of the damping medium, it is also possible to mix these aforementioned natural oils.
- the physical behavior of the oils can be changed by adding a certain percentage of polyhydric alcohols, glycols or glycol ethers become.
- Polyprooylene glycol, polyethylene glycol with a low molecular weight, propanediol, butanediol, polyethylene glycol dimethyl ether, butyl diglycol and butyl glycol are particularly suitable here.
- Phosphates and basic nitrogen compounds have been found to be particularly suitable.
- the viscosity of the damping medium can also be adjusted by mixing the various substances, natural oils with one another or with the abovementioned alcohols, glycols or glycol ethers. Should that be the case with natural oils

Abstract
Description
Dämpfungsmedium
Beschreibung
Nimmt man z.B.
