Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à un appareil de détection à distance pour véhicules (12), qui comprend un organe (13, 14, 15) qui sert à déterminer la distance séparant un premier véhicule d'un objet ou d'un deuxième véhicule (11) dans la région située à l'avant du premier véhicule et qui est sensible à la vitesse du véhicule de façon à déterminer une valeur de distance seuil qui est plus grande au fur et à mesure que la vitesse augmente, ainsi qu'un organe qui sert à comparer la distance ainsi déterminée du véhicule détecté avec la valeur seuil et qui sert à produire un signal d'avertissement (16) lorsque cette distance déterminée est inférieure à cette valeur seuil.
