Abstract

A portable multi-purpose combination device for use in the performance of an activity, comprises two separable, inter-engaging constituent parts arranged to serve complementary functions relating to such activity. One said part comprises a base part constructed as a receptacle for holding articles, implements and/or materials required for or useful in the performance of said activity. The other part comprises a cover part arranged to removably fit over, protect, and be supported by said base part, and is constructed so as when removed from said base part to serve alternatively (a) as a seat, support, workbench, or step useful in the performance of the said activity, or (b) when inverted, as a temporary receptacle for materials useful in, associated with, or arising from the performance of said activity. The base part has uppermost one or more carrying handles, which protrude through an aperture or respective apertures formed uppermost in said cover part so as to facilitate the carrying of the combination device. The cover part is separable from said base part by releasing and lifting said cover part so as to disengage said handle or handles from said aperture or respective apertures in said cover part.

Description

COMBINED SEAT, STAND, BENCH, HOLDING DEVICE, STORAGE AND
DISPOSAL CONTAINER.
This invention rel ates to a secure seat, stand, bench, holding device, storage and disposal container which is portable.
There are several examρles of users who use one container to store things in and a seperate device to use as a stand, seat or bench. Examples of this ar e:
The carpenter who has a bag of tools, a set of steps and portable bench.
A housewife who has a box of cleaning materials and a stool.
A gardener who has a set of tools, and a bucket for weeds or fertiliser.
In addition there are users who use a storage container as a device but cannot obtain access while it is being used. An example of this is: The a ng l er wh o si t s on a ba sk et b u t has t o st a n d t o obtain access .
The functions of this mention are normally seperate items designed specifically for each task. The invention combines the essential features of each individual item into one combined device which is portable. In addition it makes the contents secure when not in use. The invention allows for several items to be carried together and it offers a saving in the cost of purchasing several seperate devices.
According to this invention there is provided; a "shell", or "shells", which performs the function of seat, stand, bench, holding device and container and; a "frame" which performs the function of storage of tools, materials, clothing, food, sports equi pment or chemicals. The type of storage container within, or part of, the "frame" would be dependant on the application. The "shell" and "frame" can be securely joined together when they are being moved, stored, or used.
Figure 1 shows in perspective the invention being carried to its place of use.
Figure 2 shows the seperation of the "frame" from the "shell".
Figure 3 shows the "shell" being used as a bench and holding device and "frame" as a tool and filing store.
Figure 4 shows the "shell" being used as seat and "frame" to st ore fishing tackle.
Figure 5 shows the "shell" being used as a stand and the "frame" to store cleaning utensils.
Figur e 6 shows the "shell" being used as a container and the "fr ame" to store gardening utensils.
