Abstract
A locking and guiding device for pull cords for roller blinds and the like is easily demountable and mountable by having a spring (6) which with friction is secured to a stud (5) of a locking arm (3) forming part of the device and by the fact that a mounting (1) with two upright walls (2) between which the locking arm is pivotally mounted, has a recess (7) in which the lower portion of the spring fits. For this reason the locking arm will be guided in relation to the mounting such that the pivot pin (9) may be easily introduced. At the same time the lower winding of the spring (6) prevents the cord (8) from leaving the mounting and thus guides it.
Description
Easily demountable locking and guiding device for cords, preferably pull cords for roller blinds
The present invention refers to an easily demountable locking and guid ing device for cords, preferably for pull cords for roller blinds.
Pull cords for Venetian blinds, roller blinds and the like have usually been fixed in desired position by winding the cord around a separate securing means and in order to guide the cord in relation to the reel from which the cord is unrolled when raising the blind guiding means provided near to said reel have been used.
The object of the invention has primarily been to provide a locking and gu i d i ng devive for pull cords which automatically locks the cord in any desired position and which guides the cord in relation to the reel from which it is unrolled and also is designed such that it may be easily demounted for replacing curtain, cord or the like and to prevent that the cord needs to be threaded into the locking and guiding device.
To achieve these and other objects the locking anf guiding device is designed according to the claims.
The enclosed drawing illustrates an examplifying embodiment of the invention, and
Fig. 1 is a side view of the new device, partly broken, and Fig. 2 is an end view of one of the main parts of the device.
The locking and guiding device comprises two main parts, i.e. a mounting, generally designated fay numeral 1 and intended to be attached by means of screws to a wall, a window post or the like. The mounting 1 has two spaced apart upright walls 2, between which the lower portion of the second main part of the device, a locking arm generally designated as 3, is pivotally mounted. The locking arm has atlocking portion 4 intended to lock the cord 8 and a stud 5 intended to hold by means of friction one end of a coil spring 6, the opposite end of which supporting against the bottom of a recess 7 in the mounting 1. As appears from fig. 2 the coil spring bridges the recess 7 and thus also the groove in which the cord runs and thus guides the cord 8 in the height direction. Since the coil spring 6 fits into the recess the locking arm will be guided in relation to the mounting when the locking arm is mounted in the mounting such that the holes in the walls of the mounting for the pivot pin 9 will be aligned with the hole for the pivot pin 9 in the locking portion of the locking arm such that said pin with a minimum of alignment work may be inserted through said holes .
Claims
1. Easily demountable locking and guiding device for cords, preferably for pull cords for roller blinds, including a mounting (1) which has two spaced apart walls (2), a locking arm (3) which by means of a pivot pin (9) is pivotally mounted intermediate said walls (2) and a spring (6) which normally holds the locking arm in a position in which a locking portion (4) thereof keeps the cord (8) locked in relation to the mounting, c h a r a c t e r i z e d in that the spring (6) with one end thereof is secured to the locking arm while the opposite end thereof supports against the bottom of a recess (7) provided in the walls
(2) of the mounting such that said lower end of the spring will bridge the distance between the walls (2) and thus prevent the cord from leav ing the mounting and that the spring (6) has such a fit in relation to the recess (7) that the locking arm by introduction of the spring in said recess will be so aligned that the pivot pin (9) may be applied without any real alignment work.
