Description

June 26, 1934. A. G. DECKER PORTABLE ELECTRIC DRILL Filed March 15, 1934 Patented June 26, 1934 UNITED STATES Des. 92,590
PATENT OFFICE Alonzo G. Decker, Towson, Md., assignor to The Black & Decker Manufacturing Company,
Towson,
Md, a corporation of Maryland Application March 15, 1934, Serial No. 51,054
Term of patent 3 /2 years To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALONZO G. DECKER, a citi- Qen of the United States of America, residing in Towson, county of Baltimore, State of Maryland, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Portable Electric Drill, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
In the drawing the figure is a perspective view of the casing looking at the same from the side.
Referring to the drawing, the body 1 of the casing is of polygonal cross section closely approaching a circular outline and has a gradual taper toward the rear from a zone 2 of greatest diameter which is near the front. Forward of the zone 2 of greatest diameter, the casing has an abrupt taper toward the nose 3 which is eccentrically located being above the center in the position of the tool as illustrated. The handle 4 which is the dominant feature of the design is of the spade type being located at the rear and having its top arm 5 continuous with the top horizon of the body portion of the casing. The grip portion 6 of the handle extends downwardly from said top arm, being inclined downwardly and rearwardly in its relation to a transverse line at right angles to the axis of the tool, and the bottom arm 7 of the handle which joins the lower end of grip to the body is sharply inclined downwardly and rearwardly from the bottom horizon line of the body portion.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a portable electric drill as shown and described.
Signed by me at Baltimore, Maryland, this 12 day of March, 1934.
ALONZO G. DECKER.
