PATENT OFFICE To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ELLEN V. MILLIGAN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Novelty Stocking, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part thereof, wherein:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the novelty stocking as it appears upon the leg of a wearer thereof, the dotted line representing the outline of the leg; and

Figure 2 is a rear view.

Referring to the above drawing, it will be observed that the design is principally characterized by the fact that the leg portion of the stocking is entirely eliminated, leaving only a lower portion which is adapted to encase the foot and ankle and an upper portion which is adapted to encase the thigh of the wearer. Interconnecting the said upper and lower portions is a longitudinally extending narrow strip of knitted fabric, said strip extending longitudinally of and including the usual stocking seam. The general effect of the stocking when worn upon the leg of a wearer is that of a stockingless or bare leg, although at the same time it functions in the manner of a complete stocking.
