DESIGN FOR CLOCK-CASES.

Specification forming part of Design No. 8,789, dated November 9, 1875; application filed October 29,1875. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HERMANN J MiiLLEIt, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Design for a Clock-Case, of which the following is a specification My design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is made.

A is the base of the clock-case, the lower edge of which is vertical, and with lines upon it like panel-work. The middle part of the base A curves inward and upward, and has ornamental work upon it, representing leaves and other ornaments. The upper part of the base A projects like a cornice. The lower middle part of the base A is cut away, and has a projectin g ornament, B, formed upon it at the upper part of the recess thus formed. The top of the projection B is rounded ofl', and has points formed upon it. The base of the projection B is surrounded with leaf-like ornaments, and from its opposite sides project scrolls 0,. above which are formed other scrolls D. Above the projection B is formed a leaf-like ornament, E. The body F of the case is made narrower than the base A, and is made rectangular in its lower part. Upon the top of the ends of the base B, at the sides of the body F of the case, are formed orna mental projections G, from the tops of which arms H, made with ornamental angles and projections, extend up to the middle part of the case, where are formed ornamental angles and projections I. The top J of the case is made angular or roof-shaped in its general form, with a projecting ornamental cornice. The lower ends of the top J are coucaved, and are provided with ornaments K, where they join the body F of the ease. Upon the angle or peak of the topJ is formed a pointed or angular ornamental projection, L. Upon the top J, a little below the ornament L, are formed projecting scroll-shaped ornaments M. In the top J, below the ornaments M, are formed holes N, rectangular in their general form, and surrounded with ornamental lines and recesses. In the top J, in the space between the angle or peak L and the holes N, is a bright ornamental boss, 0, with a starshaped or angular edge. The frame P of the door is rectangular in its lower part, and arched in its upper part, and is ornamented with lines and leaves.

Having thus described my invention, I claim- The design for a clock'case, in which the base, body, top, and door-frame are ornamented and shaped, substantially in the manner herein shown and described.
