Be it known that I, AUGUSTUS F. IIARTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, haveinvented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forining part thereof. y

The figure is a perspective view of a cooking-stove showing my new design.

As shown in the drawing, my design consists in providing upon the vertical front surface of the stove, located above lthe tops of the legs and below the cooking-surface, a central raised boss, around which extends a scroll. The scroll around the boss is within a series of bosses united by scrolls located near the outer edges of the central front vertical surface of the stove. The front vertical surface of the stove, which projects laterally beyond the legs, is ornamented by scrolls to correspond to the ornamentation on the main vertical front portion. The vertical back portion of the stove, which rises above the horizontal cooking-surface, is ornamented by a series of ribs and grooves arranged as shown inthe drawing. Above the ledge at the top of the back of the stove is located an ornamented castingfas shown in the figure of the drawing.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
