JOHN CLULEE, OF VVALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE INTERNATIONAL SILVER CO., OE MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT, A COR- PORATION OF NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS, FORKS, OR SIMILAR ARTICLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,284, dated April 14, 1903.
Application filed March 13, 1908. Serial No.1 l7,678. Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Beit known that 1, JOHN CLULEE, of Wallingford, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, haveinvented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Handle for a Spoon, Fork, or Similar Article; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification and represents a face view of a handle for a spoon, fork, or similar article embodying my design.
This invention relates to an ornamental design for a handle for a spoon, fork, or similar article; and it consists in the configuration and ornamentation, as herein shown and described.
At the tip of the handle is a full-blown lily A, turned downward, a portion of the petals forming the outline of the tip of the handle, the extreme tip of which is formed by a scroll F. Below the lily are buds G. At aboutthe center of the handle is a second full-blown lily B, turned downward and its sides forming the outline of the handle, the lilies being connected by scrolls or stems C at opposite sides of the handle, which bow outward, forming a plain panel D. Below the lily B are interlaced stems E, forming an irregular outline to the stem, which in this portion is contracted.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The ornamental design for a handle for a spoon, fork, or similar article, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JOHN CLULEE.
