DESIGN FOR A POST-BAS E.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,404, dated March 27, 1900.
Application filed Frhrnary 27.1900. Serial Ni 6.760. Term of patent 7 years.
Be it known that I, .Ion G. GLADXEY, acitizen of the United States, residing at lIomer in the parish of Claiborne and State of Louisiana, have invented and produceda new and original Design for a Post-Base, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a post-base, and has for its object to provide a design of this characteri which shall be both ornamental and useful.
The leading feature of the present design resides in the substaiitiallystraight and flat body and the pair of oppositely-spaced lateral projections located intermediate of the oppo site ends of the body u pen the same side and flush with the respective longitudinal edges thereof, said edges being converged upwardly from the projections and substantially parallel below the projections, the lower extremity of the body being in the form of a flat blade having the sharp laterally-convened or outwardly-bowed lower edge.
Minor features of the design reside in the pair of vertically-alined perforations in the upper portion of the body and above the projections, the flat upper faces of the projections, which faces extend at substantially right angles to the adjacent face of the body, the laterally-concaved inner faces of the projections, which merge into the adjacentface of the body, and the laterally-beveled outer edges of the lower portions of the projections, said beveled edges also merging into the body adjacent to the lower end thereof, the rearor outer face of the body being free from projections and the lower portion thereof being beveled or inclined inwardly and downwardly to the lower edge thereof.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of a post-base embodying the present design. Fig. 2 is an edge elevation thereof. Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view taken on the line 3 3 of Fig. 2.
Corresponding parts in the several figures i of the drawings are designated by like characters of reference.
eferrin' to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates the substantiallystraight and [lat body of the base, which has the pair of oppositely-spaced lateral projections 2, which are located intermediate of the opposite ends of the body. The upper faces 3 of the projections extend at substantially right angles to the body, and the outer faces I are Ilush with the respective longitudinal edges of the body. Each projection is prov ided with a lateraIly-concaved face 5, which merges into the adjacent inner face of the i body. The lower portions of the outer edges of the projections are beveled laterally, asindicated at (I, and these beveled edges incline inwardly and downwardly and also merge into the inner or front face of the body adjacent to the lower end thereof. The opposite longitudinal edges of the body converge upwardly from the projections, as indicated at 7, and the lower portions of said edges are substantially parallel. A pair of verticallyalined perforations 8 are located in the upper portionof the bodyand above the projections. The lower extremity of the body is in the form of a flat blade 9, having the sharp lower edge 11), which is convexed or bowed laterally. The outer or rear face 11 of the body is free from project ions, and the lower portion thereof is beveled or inclined inwardly and downwardly to the lower edge 10, as indicated at 1;.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for a post-base, as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JOE G. GIIADXEY.
