DESIGN FOR A HEEL-PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,987, dated December 12, 1899. Application filed November 13, 1899. Serial No. 736,880. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom t may concern-.-
Beit known thatI, JOSEPH R. PERRY, acitizen of the United States, residing at South Norwalk, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Heel-.Plate for Rubber Boots, (be. of which the following isa specication.
The invention relates to a new and original design for a heel-plate for rubber boots, gaiters, and the like; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character which will be both ornamental and useful.
The essential feature of the design resides in a heel-plate composed of an approximately segmental body portion provided with openings and having central and side lugs or projeetionsandacurved bar provided with astud.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view ofa heel-plate,showing my new and original design. Fig. 2 isasimilar View, the hee1- plate being inverted. Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view. g
Referring to the drawings, 1 designates a heel-plate provided with an approximately segmental body portion 2, having tapered or countersunk openings 3 and provided with a curved bar 4, oiset from the outer face of the body portion and extending from the approximately straight edge of the same at points equidistant of the ends. The body portion 2 is provided atits ends with lugs 5, formed on its inner face and providing feet or bearings. The openings 3 are located between the ends of the body portion, which is provided with annular bosses or enlargements G, surrounding the openings and arranged at its inner face. The curved bar 4 is provided with a central stud 6, and' the body portion has a central projection or lug extending into the space inclosed by the curved bar 4. The inner edge or face 8 of the body portion is composed of opposite straight portions and a central curved portion 9, from which the lug 7 projects.
What is claimed is- The design for a heel-plate, as herein shown and described.
