SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,270, dated July 18, 1899.

Be it known that I, IIIMAN JACOB, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the borough of Manhattan and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bifurcated Garments, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a rear elevation of a bifurcated garment, showing my new design. In this view the garmentis supposed to be lying down flat, so that the lower ends of the legs of the garment are turned outwardly. Fig. 2 is a similar side elevation of the same.
The leading feature of my design, as shown inthe drawings, consists of a row of buttons at each side of the garment, short radial transverse ribs at one side of the buttons and a longitudinal plait at the other side, all arranged at the upper end of the garment, and a row of buttons, short transverse ribs at one side of the buttons and a longitudinal plait at the other side, all arranged at thelower end of each bifurcation or leg of the garment and reversed in position with respect to and arranged approximately in line with the corresponding features at the upper part of the garment.
