TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, JOHN PoLHAMUs, of the city and State of New York, have invented or produced a. new and original Design for Handles of Forks, Spoons, 8L0. and I do hereby declare the following to he a correct description of the some, reference being had to the accompanying photograph of a spoon, the handle of which contains my said new design.

The lower part, a, of the handle is plain and rounded. lhe beads and knops, at b, commence the design. From this, along the handle towards the end, the leaf design 0 diverges, and receives the base of the scrollwork d, with the flowers at c. The end of the handle is ornamented with diverging beads, forming a leaflet pattern atf. The groundwork between the scrolls is ornamented with corded work.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design of the ornamentation for the handles of forks and spoons, as represented.
