UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAMES HIPKINS MGNEILL, OF MINERAL CITY, VIRGINIA.
DESIGN FOR A PUZZLE-CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,495, dated October 18, 1898.
Application filed September 13, 1898. Serial No. 690,893. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JAMES HIPKINS Mo- NEILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Mineral City, in the county of Louisa and State of Virginia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Puzzle-Case, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a portion thereof, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the puzzlecase embodying the features of my design, the cover being removed; and Fig. 2 is a transverse section through the puzzle-case and its cover.
The invention relates to that class of puzzle-cases in which rolling objects are to travel over a surface of peculiar configuration.
The leading feature of the design consists in the band-like margin or standing border A and a bed 13, to which the band-likeborder is fitted. The bed in plan and in cross-section has an appearance similar to the frustum of a cone, the inclination being from the apex downward gradually in direction of the border, while at the apex of the border A a dishlike cavity 0 is formed. The entire upper surface of the bed inclines upward from the border to the said cavity.
The minor feature of the design consists in a cover D for the body.
I claim- The design for a puzzle-case herein shown and described.
