`TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONGERN:

Be it known that I, CARL MLLER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have -invented a new and characteristic Design for a Figure and Base; and'I do hereby declare thatfthe following is a. full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled inthe art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this speoication, in which Figure I is a perspective View of said figure and base, -viewing slightly from the right.

This invention relates to a design for a blacksmith in a. resting position, leaning against an anvil, whereon his coat is loosely thrown. Thevblac'ksmith is in the act of lighting his' pipe with ahot crow-bar or iron, as

shown in the drawing. A

The base accompanying the figure is of a round shape, and on it, about the feet of the blacksmith, are lying a hammer, horse-shoe, nail, &c. i

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
