Description

ESIG JONE DISPLAY RACK No. 28,437. Patented Mar. 29, 1898.
PATENT OFFICE.
IRA A. JONES, OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA.
DESIGN FOR A DISPLAY-RACK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,437, dated March 29, 1898. Application filed February 10, 1898. Serial No. 669,875. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whmn it may concern.-
Be it known that I, IRA A. JONES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Display-Racks; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to a new and original design of a rack for displaying dishes, porcelain-ware, or any other suitable article, the purpose of said invention being to provide a design that is both useful and ornamental.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective of the display-rack. Fig. 2 is a side elevation. Fig. 3 is a plan View thereof.
Said design resides in apair of parallel base pieces or strips 1 some distance apart, with a series of supporting-bars 2, whose ends are secured in oppositely-located parts of the pair of base-pieces. The said supporting-bars extend up from the point of attachment 3 to the base-pieces vertically for some distance to the point 4, thence upward farther, but somewhat inclined to the rear in a straight line to the point 5, thence laterally and horizontally and somewhat inclined rearward fartherto the middle point 6. The remaining half is formed similar to the half just described. The vertical portion of said bars is about half the length of the rearwardly-inclined portion that extends upward. The supporting-bars 2 are secured to the base-pieces 1 at substantially equal intervals from one end to the other of said base-pieces, each of said supporting-bars being parallel in all portions to the corresponding portions of each othersupporting-bar. At one end of said base-piece pins 7 extend upwardly for a slight distance. The tops of the base-pieces 1 are beveled at 8, although this is a subordinate feature of my design.
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a display-rack herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
IRA A. JONES.
